Went on a little outing today
« on: December 17, 2007, 12:50:42 PM »
Well i finished uni for the christmas hols on friday and so finally had a chance to get out and play a bit with my F1 today. 12mile bike ride with a 5mile walk in the middle. Was nice to get out and about. Here's a few pics!
The way to the woods

Getting stuck in

Was a bit muddy on the track i took to the woods!

Does my bum look big in this?

And one for Mikey, you should come here to hunt the little beggars, couldnt go 10m without seeing one scuttle across the path.

All in all a fun couple of hours spent in the great outdoors!

Yeah it was fun to get out, hopefully i'll be getting some more walking in over the hols, unfortunately there's very few places to get out on my bike at home so i thought i'd get some in before i head back tomorrow.

Be glad you aren't here today then- we had a blizzard last night, and as usual it was followed with the rain and some low temperatures, which means that the roads are covered in ice with slush and water over top.  You wouldn't make it ten feet on a bike here today!

Yeah i heard about that, was gonna check make sure non of you overseas lot had been affected. I've always wanted to try and bike in the snow but we haven't had a decent snowfall in the last few years for me to try it. I did have fun earlier this year when the road to our house was flooded to about a foots depth and went storming through it on my bike...that was fun!

Looks like you had a blast!! It's just too darn cold here right now to be outdoors comfortably;I dodged the blizzard bullet by a few miles...but judging how winter's shaping up I won't be dodging winter's worst for long.

It didnt get the thorough work out i would have liked, was hard to find decent wood, it was all a bit soggy. But when i did find some wood to mess around with, it performed wonderfully.

Someone say roaring fire shot?

That wasn't taken today sadly, last new years day, that was a good fire!

You and me both mate :D

I took my son to the woods for the first time this summer and cooked us dinner on a proper fire, and the funny thing is he was scared of it (a proper human response) and for a minute I couldn't figure out why, then I remembered all the times I told him to stay away from the living room fire, the hob, ect ect ect... ::) :D

At least he has respect for it, some little kids have no idea what they are doing around a fire.
