The PitBoss - The Great MT Mod Give Away Winner!

This is thread for the build and mod of a Core for The Great MT Mod Giveaway.

The winner Cleanser will receive The PitBoss for several reasons:

1. I appealed to me greatly as I grilled food 3-4 times a week.
2. Every tool mentioned could be incorporated (even the thermo, it's not TRUELY one but you'll see)
3. I saw the potential of using a Core as the donor body for this mod, instead of a Charge.

I present the tools layout for The PitBoss:

1) meat thermometer (blade type)
2) knife
3) 2 prong fork thing for turning meat (made from saw)
4) ice pick skewer thing (the awl will do nicely)
5) a SECOND awl spaced apart to create a more aggressive fork (made from one of the med flat bits)
6) pliers used to pick up hot metal things
7) BIG removable flipper for burgers
 serrated type of blade used for cutting bread (already there, also it's the longest SE blade available)
9) bottle opener for any drinks with your grillin (already there)
10) can opener for cream corn or beans (also there)
11) butter knife made from an actual butter knife in place of the file.
12) keep big flat bit (BBQ adjustment)
13) keep phillips driver (BBQ Adjustment)
14) Custom engraving

Made the second awl/food poker/tenderizer. It'll sit one tool away from the regular awl to make a 2 prong fork.



It is made from a carefully ground down medium flat bit driver.

Man, I sure buggered up those stupid bolt head, I don't remember them being so tough. Oh well. Regrind those and screw them back in later.

Here they are temp installed.

Here's the fork, made from a ground down saw. Why so short? The metal is quite thin near the end of the saw and it buckled under the heat of grinding it, even tho taking breaks in between grinds. Worked out for the better.

I always imagined opening one handle side to use the fork anyways, that gives about 9 inches of reach.

I can't believe it but Cleanser has decided to decline the prize of The Pitboss.

So, I will will continue with production and then hold an auction, with benefits going towards MTO.

I only have a few more parts to make and we are off to the auction house.

Ok. The fork/wolverine/SE blade handle is done.

Got the other handle tools fabbed up today. The meat thermometer is a blade type one with a color chart as to the temp of the meat.

Green for poultry, blue for pork. The flip side has scale for beef, blue for well done, yellow for medium and red for rare. all you have to do is stick it into the meat for 3 seconds to tell.







The file has been smoothed down for spreading sauces.



The rest of the tools remained the same but in different order. The large and small flat bits stayed, the lanyard thing, the knife and cap/can opener.
