I am a huge fan of my LA Police gear bail out bag, it's the same design as the county comm BOB but WAY cheaper. I got mine one sale for $10.

Right here are the pics as promised :tu:...5.11 Tactical Push Pack in Coyote brown or some say flat dark earth tan ...well wanted to get a few more pics with all goodies out but I took these while out dog walking and stopped where I normally do and along came some people I knew and, well you know, you get talking and the time just goes!

As I bought this very lightly used it doesn't have the removable clip covers, normally two elastic covers for the plastic clips. Various add ons are available just like the maxpedition variant, lots of molle and two hidden pockets. Hidden pocket are, looking at this pics one is behind the molle on the left where the s-biner ahhh is, this pocket will take most multitools, I had one wave and one PPP in it. The other pocket is on the right just above the canteen bottle behind the velcro, this will take a cross cut or micra. Sholder strap has a padded and removable support pad.

Good strong YKK zips through out with chunky pull tags, velcro on front flap is also molle.

Top zip pocket is intended for sunglasses, phones etc, things you don't want squashed or just for quick access. The rear pocket has velcro strips inside for holding 5.11 modular accessories and magazine/hand guns. It is a large pocket, unfortunately I didn't show the contents here but there is a large poncho/ground sheet, pack away jacket and wallet.

There are two expanding mesh side pockets that will take various water bottle sizes, the one shown here is only a 330ml about the size of a can of pop.

This bottle shown here is a typical canteen style and hold about 900ml, the canteen style as you may know is an odd non cylindrical shape but it fits very well. Both side pockets can be used for anything you like. Pockets have a velcro flap to aid in holding in place, zips on pockets have cord loops to pull over top of water bottles. These are great pockets, the maxpedition variant side pocket is a drawstring affair.

The back of the bag has three nice chunky padded areas and one fixed one velcro belt attachment point, its one on top of the other.

Inside there are various pockets of different sizes, the main large area will hold enough gear for a good long day in varied conditions. Directly under the main flap on the front of bag is a large velcro pocket, this is where I put my multitools, the velcro keeps everything nice and secure, sorry didn't get to showing them, the mesh section shown has pen slots and smaller pockets for pills, keys, torches etc. The inside of flap seems to be waterproof. The one thing I wish this bag had is the inner drawstring bag like the maxpedition variant has, its just makes the contents more secure if you had to run or throw you bag.

Added this pic to show this great little product, name and web address shown if you want to find out more. Its very strong and extends up to 70cm.

I really like this bag, it will hold more than enough kit and is very comfortable to wear, this version is worn right to left, meaning it hangs on your right shoulder and sits towards the left of your body, an opposite version is available, although this could be worn on the left it would just sit a bit different, thanks :tu:

Nice review badwolf.

Every year, a friend and I drive out to another friends place near the Badlands. This year, when I threw my Jumbo onto the center console of his truck, I noticed another one in the cab. I thought my friend had picked up a Maxped.

And I was wrong. It was one of the 511 bags. While I agree that I'd miss the inner drawsting 'skirt', there are some improvements like the extra Molle attachment points.

I think it's a great bag and built to last a lifetime. :tu:

My EDC bag is a Timbuk 2 small classic messenger.  I've had great luck with Timbuk 2 products, and their customer service has been literally the best I've ever experienced.  (Note, I'm not associated with them in any way.)

For me, a messenger bag works far better than something like a Maxped or a 5.11, and it blends in seamlessly in my college work environment.

My laptop bag is an original Timbuk 2 "Commute".  I've had it for almost 7 years now, and it's still going strong.  There's a place inside where the liner has cracked and peeled some, but it hasn't seem to have affected the waterproofness of the bag.

When I ordered it, I specified an all black one.  The one I received had a gray center panel.  I emailed them to ask for an RMA for an exchange.  They sent me an entire new bag, free of charge, and it was on my doorstep by the end of the next day.  Told me to keep the one I was sent by mistake.

My small classic messenger is one I custom ordered.  I typically bike a lot, so got one made with a center reflective panel with their 'covert' fabric.  It looks like a regular black cordura panel until you shine a light on it, and then the whole thing lights up as a reflective surface.

When I first ordered it, the bag I received was missing one of two velcro strips under the flap to hold it down when it's not buckled down.  I emailed them a pic, and asked for an RMA for an exchange.  Again, without even asking for or expecting it, they told me to keep the one I had been sent, and by the end of the next day, a brand new, flawless bag, built to my specifications was on my doorstep.  That is what I call service!

I'm getting myself a new 17" MacBook Pro for Christmas this year, and I'll be getting a new Timbuk 2 bag for it as well.  Their stuff is bullet proof, they are a fantastic company to buy from.

Well tonight I played my own version of the mall ninja. My mission was to comfortably roam a giant shopping centre and get my shopping done. I sported the maxpedition jumbo EDC, the most comfy shoes I own and undergarments that my man parts won't try to eat. With the jumbo on my shoulder my pockets were empty save for some change and a Kershaw leek. Ligher, lip chap, keys, wallet, iPhone, cigarettes and some eye drops to lube the contacts from the dry mall air. I used everything I took with me save for the BO Blast and streamlight stylus PRO which have permanent residence in the jumbo. Had a 6" sub and was able to carry my bottled bevy to sip and shop at my leisure. Wore a light jacket and when I grew too warm, rolled it up and stashed it in the main pouch. Hands free hustlin'! Very comfy and the jumbo's low profile slips through the crowd and isles easily. I just performed tactical Christmas shopping! My pockets have been liberated!

Love the tactical usage of Chapstick storage.

I actually did the same thing this last weekend with the same bag.  But my chapstick was in my jeans pocket so that I could quickdraw it on the run.   :D   Two weekends in a row spending upwards of 6 hours in and out of malls and stores with my Jumbo.  I loved every tactical moment of it.  I had to carry it because my wife was with me and I was buying her presents.  They were covertly stowed in the main pouch so no store bags were visible.  She never looks in my bag so I was safe.

My jumbo is the coolest EDC I've found yet.  It really fits perfectly.

Does yours have the storm flap?  I cut mine out because it kept getting in the way.

I picked up a khaki / foliage Jumbo a few days ago  :D

Really pleased with it so far especially as it matches my Noatak  :tu:  Really wanted the orange / foliage; I'll see how I get on with this first.

Previous owner cut out the storm flap  :-\  Never really used in the Fatboy and probably won't miss it but would have been nice to have a choice. It was a great price though

Pics to follow  :D

I'm the same way.  I carry it every day and don't need it, but tonight I needed it and couldn't find it.

And you won't miss that stupid flap, it's pointless.
