Made some progress on the torch front:

I started a thread in the flashlight section:
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,33528.0.html

It's already seemed like too much work considering how cheap the internals are but i suppose replacement parts will cost practically nothing.
How long have some of you had your MXDL?
Pictures of most of my work can be found on my Facebook Page.
Also have a look at my Shapeways Shop and SW Torch Shop for 3D printed items.

Check the other thread for a couple of better photo's of the torch cap.

I personally wouldn't dare to EDC a copper cadet as it's finish would be worn away within days and they're not cheap.....IF you can get one at all.

My pretty much finished (apart from the torch obviously) brass keychain:

I finally got hold of a couple of mcgizmo clips and found a solid brass split ring to add just that bit more shine.

I tried very unsuccessfully to dissolve the zinc/nickel/chrome? coating off the brass barrel on a cable ring to expose the brass. I tried sulphuric and hydrochloric acids with the latter dissolving straight through the steel cable and not touching the brass' coating at all. Has anyone tried doing something similar with any success?

My finished fire steel holder:

In comparison with the Aurora Fire Starter and the Exotac Nanostriker:

These pictures don't show very clearly the relative sizes of these items:
The Aurora is 16mm in diameter and 93mm long,
My one is 12mm in diameter and 83mm long,
The Exotac is 9.7mm in diameter and 86mm long.

The only other thing i can think of adding is a whistle , any other ideas?

Im trying out a different edc at the moment , i prefer the pliers on this MT than my waves as HD and good for undoing rusty bolts on old bicycles i find dumped on my travels, i also wanted a dedicated screw driver and only use the MT's as back ups, the onlt other thing im going to pick up is a dedicated wood saw and im done  :tu: the little MT is for pocket carry the rest goes in my backpack ,

Nice set-up Zed, good to see everything has it's place.

Great pen Gojkan, it would be a hard decision for me whether to keep it nice and shiny in it's box or dare use it.
Interesting ideas on other brass items, however i refuse to go near the world of SAK modding despite the fact that a brass 54mm or any size would be really cool.
A brass scaled PS4 would be even better and i might have considered it if they weren't riveted together (i really hate rivets).
Not really much of a toothpick user but the sunshine toothpick tubes look quite nice.
A brass marine shackle might be just the thing for attaching my keyring to the rest of the items.

I've finished designing the whistle and will cut a prototype when i finish with the torch, speaking of which:
