Picked up a BO Leatherman Supertool 300 Yesterday and decided to do a little photo-shoot with my new Supertool 300 and my first Leatherman ever, a '94 Supertool.  Here are the pics, enjoy  ;).

I'll begin with some pics from my new Supertool 300 first (and I'll post the ST300 vs ST '94 pics right after this).

And here's part 2 from the photo-shoot  8).

First impressions ... everything looks (is) bigger on the new one, and cutting seatbelts was a lot more tricky back in the 90's ...  :o.

Nice shots and awesome comparison photos!  Love the sheath on the BO one.

Great picture. I think I might bring out my Super Tool to play with for a bit. I really need to get my hands on a ST 200.

Excellent shots TG. :salute:  While I'm still a big fan of my original Supertool, I have to admit that I found the ST300 to be a bit to bulky for my taste. :-\

Nice comparison Top Gear :salute: Is there anything about the old Super Tool that you prefer over the ST300?
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

That is an amazing comparison.  To me, it really shows that Leatherman looks at every aspect and feature of a tool and tries to improve them wherever they can.  :tu:

Nice comparison Top Gear :salute: Is there anything about the old Super Tool that you prefer over the ST300?

Well ... first of all the slimness of its design (like Gareth said, the ST300 is a bulky tool), the old ST was my EDC for several years, I don't think the new one will take my Charge TTi's place as EDC tool.  It will spend most of its time on the shoulder strap of my back-pack (love the Molle sheat  8)) when I'm in the field (hiking, or searching for old coins, musket balls and other stuff with the metal-detector).  And second, I do like the small flathead more on the old ST, because there it really is a SMALL flathead (it's even so small I twisted it a bit, a long time ago  ::)).

On the other hand, the locking mechanism on the ST300 is way better than the old type, and it's also nice that you can open a knife or saw without pulling out all the other tools at the same time.  And of course, the new plier-head is AWESOME  ;).

If my wife should ever read this she would hunt you down my friend, she would hunt you down ...  :viking:

No, just kidding, she's the one who suggested that I would buy the BO ST300 because it was taking so long for my Spirits to arrive (She knew I've always wanted one of those but just hadn't bought one yet).

The coolest thing about Leatherman is that even their old and "obsolete" designs are still extremely usable today. I would have no issues with carrying their older tools.
Took the red pill...
