« on: October 26, 2011, 02:58:04 PM »
Anyone tried one of these? I don't normally go for the one piece tool, but this caught my attention

It looks really good and just what I've been looking for... except it's nearly 7cm long! That's bigger than what I'd plan to hang off it. I'm going to hold off for now...

Had only just been looking at that site, not sure about how usable that bottle opener is though ...seems a bit awkwardly placed with the clip covering part of it, still looks quite solid :tu:...they have an interesting assortment of other pry thingys and goodies, some little USA made ones.
Leatherman CRUNCH Wanted, see trade section, thanks.

I don't think it's expensive for a pry tool, but it is a little on the large side. Maybe it's better to think of it as a belt hanger or prytool with built in pocket clip  Even as a belt hanger you'd have to detach everything it's holding before using the pry or bottle opener  :-\

I'm still half tempted though - even if that caplifter does look a little close to the clip

Just a bit of feedback for anyone thinking of buying from the site I linked to:

I did place an order with them, but not for this item as it was out of stock at the time. The package arrived within a week, but one of the items wasn't there and was marked down for refund on the shipping note - but no emails to say a refund had happened. I sent them a polite email asking what was wrong as the item was still showing as in-stock on their site and whether it's best to check with them on product stock levels before placing any future orders, but got no answer. It's only today that I've received email notification of the refund, and as yet still no word on my query  :-\ The shipping of the rest of the order was fine, but their communications and admin seem a bit on the sloppy side

EDIT: Should have said invoice was dated the 20th, so that's 8 days to do a refund and at least 3 days since I placed the query. I'm not out of pocket but I'm not blown away by the service either

Always nice to see different materials being used for things like torches, instead of good old ali or ti, wonder if anyone has ever made a torch using antler

And 50ft-trad, thanks for that site feedback, always good to know what these retailers are like :tu:

There's no Country of Origin on that page.  This is an incredibly inappropriate comment to make and not the first time you've done it on this board either.

Jekostas, my first sentence was indeed uncalled for and I will delete it. Please accept my apologies.
As you're well aware I'm a bit thin-skinned when it comes to business ethics, maybe because I lectured on it at university/MBA level for years. We will probably never agree on this and I promise to not comment on it again.

To potential buyers asking about the shop: I've bought delrin battery containers from them before. Quick delivery, no problems.

Edited to add: Just noticed that I can't modify my original post to delete the offending sentence. Perhaps a moderator could take care of it. Thanks!

Truth be told, I thought it was a Munroe Mega Dangler.  :/  Have they come back up for sale on Munroe Design's website lately?
