I just talked to a guy who has several of these NIB and even some [Rangergrip] Wengergrip 51's and 76's.

I really like the blades on the 120's,they have soul.I've owned a Ranger 08 Field Dresser for 25 years and its blade, like all of the 120's,is soulful.

Even though I do like the newer Wengernox 130 Models their blades are pedestrian.

That's a good question.I don't see any,other than one comes in a clamshell box.

I mis-named these models.They are the Wengergrip 51 & 76,not Rangergrip.

As far as I know there are 2 models:

- Wengergrip 76.01 with corkscrew

- Wengergrip 76.02 with Philips screwdriver instead of the corkscrew

But there may be other models !

And a couple of Wenger display stands; one small plastic stand a and a larger wooden one with foam for standing up knives in.

I had a quick look at the catalogs available, and I think I now understand what happened here.
The names Wengergrip 51 and Wengergrip 76 were first used on this discussion probably because they were found on this website (it is the the well known us branch of the danish suppliers of the colored Victorinox cadets)
http://thegoodstuffshop.com/swissarmyknives.aspx

The 2005 and 2006 european catalogs do use the same names

But, as you can see, there is no visual confirmation if the model "51" had corkscrew or phillips driver.
I believe, based on some web research, that the model 51 was just the same as model 76 (so with corkscrew). The only difference is that it was offered with the plastic box and kit.

The more clear image comes from the european 2007 catalog

which uses the same names as referred by Jean Claude.
Model 76 with corkscrew and model 76.02 with phillips.

The 2008 catalog only shows model 76.02 (with phillips)

So the bottom line is: the wiki is probably confusing, and, in my opinion, these should be the identifiers to show:
1.76.01.02 Wengergrip 76 (corkscrew)
1.76.02.02 Wewngergrip 76.02 (phillips)

and then mentioning this, but only as a subvariant of model 76
1.76.51.02 Wengergrip 51 (same as Wengergrip 76, only changing the packaging).
What do you think?

Thanks Basilio !

It's difficult to know exactly what reference for what Wenger Grip ! And I think lot of references are like "knife with pouch" or "with case" or "with pouch and with case", speclial series like the Multitool one, etc...

Merry Christmas to all !

Some new Wengers!!!

1940 Wenger

I wish they made these today, I would definitely use one! I love the clip point blade and how thick it is. The weight and heft behind this knife is great! I even used the old can opener. Once it got started it actually worked great! It did leave a dangerous jagged metal edge though.

Wenger Matterhorn

Two phillips? Wenger you sillies!!!!! :D

I love the Matterhorn. It's going to be a great hiking knife. With a perfect width, no keyring, classic scales, no blade lock tab sticking out, and flush backsprings (catch on victorinox!) this is the most comfortable sak to use ever!

Wenger Fly Fisherman

2D Phillips!

I love this knife. It's going to be used on many fishing trips. Look at the last picture closely though. I wonder if anything might be missing? Perhaps a way to dislodge debris from teeth, or tweeze? Nah that can't be it. :D

You must know some thing :
Soldiers knives betteen 1908 and 1950 are allways carbon steel blades and you must find a "waffen kontrole" stamp on the scale side of the can opener.
If no "waffen kontrole" stamp or no year stamp on the blade or the blade is stainless steel, it's a civilian version of soldier knife.
You have more informations here : http://www.couteaux-du-soldat-suisse.ch/J01/index.php/en/autres-couteaux/couteaux-civils at the end of the page.

A neat looking display piece, but apparently originally for Wenger watches.  Holders for the watches fit into the holes in the top of the display.
