Hi all.
I spotted two very nice and interesting Wenger's.
I think these were never documented before.
Sorry for the not perfect images quality, but I took them with my phone.
--------
The first model is a 65 mm, catalog 1.564.01
As you can see, apart from the unique tools configuration, this knife is actually a Junior model, and has the blade, nail file and even scissors rounded.
I found an old entry on smartknives with a matching catalog number and the generic name "Kindermesser".
Apart from this, I bet nobody had seen this variation before!

Second find, is an unusual 85mm model, catalog 1.547.13.
I saw only once a picture of it some time ago.
Glad I finally found one.
As you can see, not only the tool configuration is interesting, but the removable wrench is completely different from the one found on the rollerblade or snowboard models.
Would be interesting to know what application this wrench was designed for.

I'm sure many have already done so, but if you haven't, go to Amazon and read the comments for the Wenger 16999 Swiss Army Knife Giant,
http://www.amazon.com/Wenger-16999-Swiss-Knife-Giant/product-reviews/B001DZTJRQ/ref=cm_cr_dp_synop?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending#R2ADECHMOFH9O3

Some are hilarious!

Oh thanks!
I sent an email to an old contact at Wenger about the 1.547.13.
Unfortunately he is now working for the Victorinox watch division, but he told me he forwarded my email.

Early '80s, late '70s maybe. Prior to 1982 I'd say going by memory.

Actually a slight correction. The padlock was introduced in the 1979 or 1980. Only appeared on a few models though, 6 of them. The 1982 was correct for the locking bottle opener so the time frame remains the same. ;)

Old and New Wenger, both are fine.

exp((-(((x-4)^2+(y-4)^2)^2))/999)+exp((-(((x+4)^2+(y+4)^2)^2))/999)+0.1*exp(-(((x+4)^2+(y+4)^2)^2))+0.1*exp(-(((x-4)^2+(y-4)^2)^2))

Is it a 1/4" square ?  If so then it would work as a std 1/4" socket drive.

There is history on it in the wiki page I linked to an the SwissArmyKnights article at the bottom of the page.
Why no article about  Wenger Classic 66 on SAKWiki?

Some years back I picked up this 'SKITOUR' Wenger. It came in a box for another knife, so no info on a number or anything else. Recently there was a request for more info in another thread. Anyone here know any more?

I'll have a look at the tool and try to convert in millimiters.
Seems like they don't have a clue at Delémont, because they sent me a catalog page of the rollerblade model.

I would say it seems a custom/special order.
Usually,
logo on the handle + strange tools selection = custom order.

Looking at the forum, saw the other day this picture by Coloswiss
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,21658.14430.html

It inspired me this

On the left is a Ranger 07, on the right a Ranger 107 (same knife but with a partially serrated blade).
The imprint on the right is the same one used for the new Ranger series.
The one from the left is not very common (second time I see it).
Just received it with the (as always) kind help by lowtech.
The only european catalog that shows the old Ranger 07/107 with the chamoix imprint (of the type on the right above) is the 2007 one, so I suspect it is not really common.
