My glass bead blasted Citizen BM6400. This picture was taken last summer. I have since swapped out the black Nato strap for a Seiko flat vent rubber strap.

Mike

Very nice :tu: Was the bead blasting a custom mod?

Yes, I had Duarte at Northeast Watch Works do this for me several years ago. Back then it made some sense as the watch itself was only $100.00 which included shipping. The bead blasting was right around $50.00.

Unfortunately, the price of the watch has gone up. But, Momentum watches by St. Moritz has some (Atlas, Cobalt Lite, Cobalt V) that look darned near identical minus the Eco-drive. Decent watches that get good reviews and Momentum is fairly active over on Watchuseek forum in the "Affordable Watches" section.

Common sense ..... so rare, it's virtually a super power.

I really hate looking at this thread.  I keep getting the urge to buy another watch after seeing all the great ones everyone else has.  The only things keeping me from doing it is that I can't afford the watches I like and I haven't even worn my Orange Monster in a while.  If I'm not even wearing the ones I have, why get more?

I know, that's a pretty pathetic argument around here!
  :P

My formula for making sure my collection gets worn, is to have watches for occasion/wardrobe/weather. The watch I wear with a suit, I wouldn't wear by the pool during the summer :)  As for cost, buy replicas, all the look, all the fun, fraction of the price tag :tu:  There are, however three golden rules of replica ownership: 1. Never wear the watch into a legitimate jewellery dealer 2. If someone asks if it's real, never say yes 3. Never ever ever try to sell it as the real thing on eBay.  Other than that, buy and wear what you like, and enjoy :D

Last few days I've been wearing another of my favorite watches, one I built myself :) The dial was a gift from one friend, the movement (automatic) was a gift from another, and the rest, case, bracelet, bezel insert etc, were from various sources and assembled by myself :)

Lil' thread bump with a pic of my Casio PAW2000 on a Maratac Zulu band.

This one is getting a LOT of wrist time. So lightweight, many groovy features and very comfy on the Zulu. It came with the standard plastic/rubber type band, which I find sweaty and bulky.

I'm not too big on plasti-rubber watch bands either.  No matter what I do they get dirty, and I can't get the smell to clean off.  I much prefer a metal band.

I got my Seiko Orange Monster about 2 weeks ago and couldn't be more happy with it...ok, maybe Watchadoo bracelet and leather strap from Hirsch could be on my wish list. :D Anyway, nice solid watch it is.

I love my Orange Monster.  I wasn't as fond of the green monster though!

Gentle crocodile is carrying a drunken multitooler to home? You better hide that strap before he finds out that you are wearing his lost grandpa on your wrist..  :ahhh
