G-Shock Rangeman (I blame Detron).

Had it for about 2 months now. Really loving it.

Nice Rangeman with NATO strap, Toolslinger! This makes me really want to get one.

The NATO strap really makes the difference. Stock, the band is not to my liking and was hard to get to fit just right.
Agree, stock polymer strap are not very comfortable. Did you have to modify the watch lugs to accept the nato strap?

You can get special adapter pieces that fit the Rangeman. Since it uses screws instead of pins to attach the band, the strap is not drop in. The adapters are made from the same resin material that the watch face is made with and use the existing screws to attach to the watch body. Then you can use the NATO strap.

I found mine as a kit (strap + 2 adapters) on eBay after doing some Google searching.
Thanks Toolslinger. Now I need reason to not get a Rangeman.

Let me be of help... A good reason not to get one is that... erm, well. Screw that.
Get one. Adaptors are available here:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/JaysAndKays-Strap-Adapters-Kit-for-Casio-GShock-5600-6600-6900-GA100-Rangeman-/281758151251?var=&hash=item419a183253

Or, for the european folks, at tiktox.com, for example.

Have fun resisting!  >:D
You guys are friendly more than helpful. I asked for help with reasons NOT to get Rangeman. Haha...

It has certainly entered my conciousness after all your "help".

We're all just a bunch of enablers around these parts. :dd:

My Sub again (as always) sporting a NATO band for summer. I'm liking it pretty well.

I finally got myself an Expedition. I replaced the band with one from CountyComm. I like it a lot so far.

Oooh, it's nice to see this thread here. There's a similar thread (new one every day) for the hardcore watch guys on watchuseek that I use to participate in. But I'm not in my watch phase these days, I'm more into MTs.

I have really been enjoying my Seiko 5 lately. Thinking about going with a metal bracelet for it. Anyone know where I might be able to pick up the OEM bracelet?

There are millions of different Seiko 5 versions. It's like asking: "where can I get a rivet for my multi-tool?"

I'm wearing my Shanghai Watch Factory "Peace" model today. My wife got it for me last Father's Day. It has a 17J hand-wound movement. New production.

For the curious, the dial text reads:

Wearing my Sub again today but had Dad's '73 Bulova Senator out looking at it. It was presented to him by the FD when he retired after 21 years.

Good luck resisting. I thought I'd never get one when I first saw reviews and pics. Forgot about it for a while, then had a chance to handle one at a local retailer. My wallet never had a chance.

Of course detron's awesome review and pics didn't help anything. >:D

Casio WS210H-1AV

Been using it daily for work. The alarms are great and like the fact it's solar powered. I've been looking for some G-Shock models, also Tough Solar,  but all I've seen are much more expensive and don't have as many functions as this one has.

That is a lot cheaper than a G-Shock,  but most of the G-Shocks that are solar, are also atomic (Radio Controlled).  However, if you do not need the toughness, then save the money, and buy a replacement with your savings when needed.

It keeps perfect time, have it for some time now and never needed to adjust the time. Don't rough it up much, mostly for use at the office so I think it'll be enough for some years...

So you managed to stop the hands from spinning pointlessly?  :D
Seems to fit you fine with the spare links.  :tu:

And EDC Gear, would you mind stop posting pics of that Citizen? I have already put the note with the model No. away, but every time I see the watch I feel the need to look the model up again and put it on my watchlist...

I recently managed - with the help of my sons teeth - tpo break teh strap on my GWM-5600 so I slapped the first watch I found on my wrist.
i do wear a WS 210 since July 21st.

You, sir, have great taste in watches!

:hatsoff:

Thanks, I can return the compliment.
Shamefully, I did not find teh time to repklace the resin on my G-Shock and am still wearing the WS-210. Though mine is a bit modded, I must confess. I made it an all black version.  8)

I like the army model as a color scheme, but the negative display was, well, a real negative once I saw it in store. Very hard to make out the information on the watch without using the backlight.

Never saw it live, only on the site. Here, it looks great, but that low visibility may be a problem...

I was pretty stoked from the site pics and was really let down in store (which was well lit). If you have a way to check one out before buying, that would be best.

I agree that most negative displays are hard to read,  however, my GD350-8 is no problem at all.
