Victorinox Airboss

(Image removed from quote.)

I'm jealous. I have been lusting after the leather band version of that watch

To be honest I think the current Victorinox mechanical watches are about the biggest bang for your buck Swiss watches around.  Their quality is on par with watches costing 2 or 3 times the price. If not better in some cases.

I agree. And their quartz watches, too. I have a Victorinox Infantry mechanical and a Maverick quartz. The Maverick is a bit dressier dive style watch that is better in fit and finish than comparably priced Seikos and Citizens. I'm surprised Victorinox watches are not more popular except for the fact that they seem to have a very inflated MSRP. You have to catch them on sale or closeout models to get the best deals.

they are expensive for a standard quartz. they are also not very well known, unlike wenger.

I think their mechanicals can be a bit expensive, too, at MRSP. I picked up this Maverick for under $200:

Fit and finish and definitely a good bit above your standard quartz watch with a decent bracelet, too. I think it's a very good watch for the ~$200 range.

NICE watch!

Only one question: does it have a screwdown crown?

For the first time since the mid-1980s I'm wearing something other than my Casio CFX-40 scientific calculator watch.  I decided to pick up a Casio Rangeman.  It's quite a beast, very solid.  It's got the full compass - barometer - altimeter sensor range (version 3 - less room, less power).  Runs on solar power and is apparently waterproof to 200 meters.  It will be interesting to see if it holds up...

I've been wearing this cheap Sekonda pocket watch quite often recently. I've discovered the front also works as a handy little mag glass

Tissot had a habit in the past of obsoleting models and the spares would just disaspear. I had an early T-touch, I broke the crystal and was unable to get a replacement

This is my one wrist watch. There's not much left of the watch my father bought 25+ years ago after an incident where vapor got in after a battery replacement.
