Wore my Seiko Orange Monster with NATO band (thanks Grant).   Matter of fact I lost my buckle today
on the band but since I tuck the rest of the band in on top of itself
It held tight and I didn't lose my watch. :tu:
Before I acquired an appreciation for automatic watches, I had an Orange Monster that I wound up returning to the store because it was off about a minute per day.  BIG MISTAKE!  I miss that watch.  In fact, it was one of the best quality watches I ever owned.

At first glance I thought that was an Omega.  Nice looking watch  :tu:

Thanks, Orient makes some superb watches. And their in-house movements are excellent. Wish I could afford a Omega though, that would be nice.

I finally got around to snapping some pics of my ZA01:

You can tell how much I wear this one- it's got some rust stains around the bezel and the Cyclops has some serious cataracts.  The 12:00 GITD spot on the bezel disappeared somewhere a long time ago and there's a small chip in the edge of the crystal at around the 4 o'clock mark.  Not too visible are a bunch of scratched and dings all over the case and bezel.

In short it has been beat to Hades and back yet keeps on keeping on.  Given the torture this thing has endured on my wrist I'm surprised it looks as good as it does!

You can't baby them forever.  Sooner or later that new timepiece gets scuffled up.  I had a basic Casio digital watch that I put through a lot in a year - slept in, showered in, never took it off - and it's still working great and has a nice touch of character now  :D

First off, good to see you are still around!   :tu:

I never had any intention of babying this watch.  While I don't deliberately abuse anything, the things this watch has seen and survived could probably be considered abuse by a manufacturer.

On top of kayaking and body boarding in the ocean it's also had the joy of being pounded by 2 meter high waves.  One of the stupid thing us East Coast people do for fun is stand about waist deep in the ocean and wait for good sized waves to hit us.  If you've never experienced this, you probably have more brainpower than I do.  The waves go over your head and it's normal to be standing about 30-50 feet away from where you started after a wave hits you.  They plow into you like freight trains, or they can flip you upside down and drive you face first into the bottom.  An old guy 20 feet away from me last year had that happen and he came up with a face full of blood.

This watch has faced those waves head on on many occasions!  :D

I have two nice watches.

One is a Fossil with a rotating ring and a black and red face with a metal band. This one is battery-operated or whatever you call it. My dad got it for me and I really like it. I started out wearing this watch today.

My other watch is a Seiko 5M63 with a blue face. This is a Kinetic watch with a metal band. I am going to wear this one for the rest of the day because I am going for a Harley ride and the vibration will help me wind it up some. I really love this watch. But I am not sure if I want to wear it for work or not. We'll see.
