What would you suggest:EDC Pen
« on: November 20, 2011, 09:07:31 PM »
I've gotten into the habit of carrying SAKs with Plus scales,so as to have a handy EDC pen at work.In addition I carry a small Sharpie, either on my ID card,or in my LM pouch. So far this arrangement has worked well, but can you lot suggest a propper EDC pen?It should write at least as well as a SAK pen, have a good secure clip of some sort, and not be so expensive as to hurt if(when) I lose it!

Ideas please

I've got a Fisher Stowaway in my wallet - good lightweight pen and under a tenner from Heinnies.

I've got an Inka pen on my gadget ring - that's been an excellent addition - also available through Heinnies but more costly :tu:

I've also got a True Utility telepen in the Micro Tool Tin. So far so good, small cheap and functional but not had it long enough to give any long term feedback

I've carried one of the benchmades now for a few years. This one is stainless and both heavy and bullet proof. Also a great pocket clip. Heavy is good for not losing it imho. Its also a space pen user

+1 on the Zebras, I recommend the Zebra telescopic pen. Small when collapsed but can be extended to a full size pen. Has a very strong pocketclip. I've had one in my pocket for about a year now. You can see more pics of it in the Pen thread, and also a few others.

Fisher Bullet with a clip.  Inka Pen (though refills are expensive).  I always have one or the other on me.

I normally carry a nice standard Fisher space pen in tactical black, nice slim solid pen but have started to use these little goodies http://www.heinnie.com/Pens/Tombow-Pens/c-1-290-768/ Tombow Airpress and Tombow Pfit, while not heavy duty they're very light weight, compact and come in funky colours, maybe one to match or contrast with a SAK  The Airpress pen will right upside down like the Fisher space pen and the little Pfit has a great pocket clip. Both very cheap, even the refills, worth a look :tu:

I'm another Zebra fan as well, specifically the F-301 Ultra: http://www.cultpens.com/acatalog/Zebra_F-301_Ultra_Ballpoint.html and the Telescopic: http://www.cultpens.com/acatalog/Zebra_Telescopic_Pen.html

I quite like the parker jotter with a gel ink insert, the gel ink dries almost instantly which is a huge improvement on all other gel pens I've tried.

 A Bic.

Sometimes you have to go quick and dirty.

I also have to recommend the Zebra line; I just wish the F-301 Compacts had a secure method of attaching.  Now if a certain someone decides to mass produce his odd-and-cool-as-frack brass pens, well... :pok: :D

You mean people nicking them or shoddy build quality? I've never noticed them lacking build quality..
