Leatherman Z-Rex ?
« on: December 06, 2011, 09:58:56 AM »
Leatherman Registered another Trade Mark: Z-Rex

Description: Hand tools, namely, tools for cutting seat belt, wrenches, tools for breaking and cutting glass, and hex drive holes

http://www.trademarkia.com/zrex-85477653.html

Could this be the One Piece Tool that was supposed to be called T-Rex ?

 :ahhh

But if they keep the name T-Rex, I have to get it... not so if it's Z-Rex. ._.

Thanks for the heads up, and awesome link! Looks like there are a lot of "dead" names that LTG has applied for and dropped, wonder what they were? Trying to google pics but not having luck. Interesting.

T-Rex was already trademarked by International Class A (handtools). Hence the Z.

I`m not sure what to     about this.    :-\  It`s ugly to start with. What`s with a  a bottle opener on a rescue type tool?   ???

Bottles don't always have beverages in them.

And one would assume a Firefighter, or other rescue personnel, would be sitting around the firehouse with this on them as well.

I like their little carabiner... Although the spring on mine did not hold up (I actually use it). Had to fix it. Something a bit heartier would be nice.

Apparently ALL multitools, multifunction knives and even many dedicated knives have to have a bottle opener.

As I recall, this was being made from scrap chunks leftover from another part they were making.

Looking at the shape, I'm having trouble visualizing what those other parts are..?

The cutter on this one looks very reminiscent of the point of a Skeletool/Freestyle/Wingman/Sidekick blade.
