Just got this NIB OG Wave today.  I love it!  Might become my new EDC.

Never gets boring looking at those sheaths.  Nice Wave too  :tu:

Love love LOVE those sheaths. I make sure to keep a few spares around, no telling how much longer LM will keep selling them.

I love that they have a nice, quiet snap instead of #$%^&*( velcro. Also, once they stretch a little, they can carry a variety of tools besides the Old Wave: Pulse, New Wave/Charge (snug, but doable), Fuse/Kick/Blast, Rebar, SwissTool Spirit, Gerber MP400/MP600, SOG PocketPlier Deluxe, just about any 4" tool. :tu:

Picked up a Wingman at the Home Depot for $25 today. Didn't need one or really have to have one, until I saw the markdown... Then I was like,  :multi:
~
Thank you the heads up.  A stop at a Lansing HD yielded a Wingman as well.

Could not walk away, the force was strong (er)
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

loki: what does "fpr" mean? And, good haul  :tu: My recent haul is pale in comparison: a PST, a Camo Fuse, and a purple Juice XE6

First production run.
Yes, first versions
Oh, I see.
So, is there a certain production date you look for or just "PAT PEND." stamps to determine the tools first production run?

I'm looking for all versions of the producted multitools.

For example silver Charge Ti had 4 version:
Patpend + 5star torx + Charge TM on handle
Patpend + 5star torx + Charge R on handle
5star torx
6star torx
Also Charge Ti had others versions:
Camo Black
Camo Silver
Black
etc...

I read somewhere (Amazon?) the standalone OG Wave sheaths Leatherman sells are not as durable as the older ones, mainly with the belt loop. It seems like it must be the double stiches on the old ones. Are the standalone OG Wave in light brown color? The ones I have (came with the tools) are in lovely dark brown. This sheath and the OG Wave are elegant enough to go with khaki pants and button down shirt without "downgrading" your look  :tu:

Arrived today are a pair of new OG Waves: one with the brown leather sheath (99' vintage), other in blister pack with a Brinkmann Legend flashlight and combo nylon sheather (00' vintage). Unfortunately, the Energizer with the 2004 exp date leaked and damaged the nice graphic in the combo pack. I would have loved to keep the blister pack in tact, but had no choice but to open it

Thanks M, this one is too nice  :)   I originally bid on it thinking I would just get it for the sheath and flip the tool. But after getting it, it's in absolutely brand new shape and I can't bring myself to split it up. I think i may flip this one on to someone who want a NIB for their collection. I like to use all my tools and this one is just too nice.

I'd love it if I would carry it, but I've got to try to get used to it again, which is hard with other tools I like to carry as well.

What's the quality of the leather like?  Tell me it's not as bad as the other modern "leather" sheaths.

Added a Freestyle to the slowly growing collection. Picked it up from eddie1115 here...

This place is dangerous to my bank account!  Since hanging out here I've picked up a G2 BO Wave, Skeletool, Skeletool CX, a Crater C33x, some Leatherman bits, couple of leather sheaths and a Freestyle!  All in the last month or 2....

I thought it was happy with my G1 Wave, PST and Supertool 200 (not pictured because my son is borrowing it...)

Sadly, I don't see the trend ending anytime soon...  LOL

I know, right?  Within this week, I pulled trigger three times:
- A Freestyle (Coalatree version)
- A Sideclip: another item to cross off in my list. Just want to see what the raves are all about. I got it cheap enough, hopefully the thing is in decent shape.
- A Skeletool Leupold: third one

Still keep my eye open for a mint/ new Flair under $60

That sheath is the bee's knees.

A new Wave would fit in it I am guessing?

Love love LOVE those sheaths. REAL leather, rather than the stuff they usually use. And the best part is, NO VELCRO, just a sturdy – and quiet – snap.

I bought a few, afraid LM would stop selling them, but my current user has been going strong for over ten years now.

Yes, they can stretch over time; a new Wave or Charge is a tight fit, and only "narrow" end down. Mine also fits my SwissTool Spirit, Gerber 400 (blunt nose mod), SOG PocketPlier Deluxe, Leatherman Rebar, Leatherman Blast (and Kick and Fuse), and probably several more mid-size tools.

The Sideclip arrived today. I got it $28 shipped. The seller was probably not interested due to multiple rust spots on it, and wanted to flip it quick. This tool turned out to be like 98% unused, blade is factory sharp, all other tools including the pliers show no sign of use. It just has pitting on the handles, and rust + dried lubricant on a few surfaces and joints. I spent almost an hour to clean it, especially on the serration of the pliers. Most of the rust is gone now. I originally thought of using a wired brush in a rotary tool to get rid of the black of the pitting, but eventually scrapped that idea. The pitting does not look too bad, it gives a nice age look to the tool. Date code is 1098 on all four pieces of handles.  :tu:

Older LM Charge Ti (I believe) for $30 at a flea market :D

Edit:  After some research here (such an awesome site), it is a Charge SLV, apparently a Costco exclusive some years back.

So awesome.  Is the tool in decent shape? I am envious of your find :ahhh Mine cost me $100 on eBay with evident of small usage on pliers' serration. I wish Leatherman ditch the knurl screws for some sort of low-profile security torx screws. I would have cannibalize my new Wave to restore the SLV.
