And I like it starting on low or med in most cases, but here I hoped for low... My Preon 2's low is highish for the middle of the night. And now the two lows seem.. the same. So perhaps they increased the low on the Lumi.

As for the high... the Lumi high doesn't look a lot lower than the high of the Preon 2 (192 lumens) and the high of the LD12 (125 lumens with a .. stronger hotspot), so maybe the Lumintop's about/over 100 lumens on high, too .. which is good.

@zoidberg,

LOL, nothing. I sold them :D Or gave them away. lol :faceplm:. I get tired of things.

Nothing new in, but I have just ressurected my Lumapower D Mini VX, so it's newly returned to circulation.

I had the extender tube on it with one of the "bite your legs off" 18650's in it, but it didn't get much use. I've bottled out of risking charging the 18650 and blowing up the neighbourhood, so I've put the original tube back on and dropped in a CR123. It still might not get much use, being a bit on the bulky side for a 240lm single cell light, but it will get more use like that than with the other cells.

Apparantly it'll go up to 550lm with the 18650, but then you'll be chargrilled during the charging stage. Also it seems trying to run it with a RCR123 will risk it vomitting flames on you while in use. Sounds like it was built/designed for flashaholics not numpties like me, so prob safer for me to put it back in "safe" mode.

I think Mr Whippy used to have one as his primary torch, but can't remember how he ran it

Lool, I won't be over the Preon, it seems, since I've been using it daily for 5 months already. ANd the thing started flickering and being annoying, turning on or off on its own, so ... gr.

How do you like it? I was told the tint is bit too cold.

Really enjoying my new Thrunite Ti3, I got hold of the Neutral White version.  I'm not massively tint fussy, but if I have a choice I'd always grab something in Neutral, the warmer tones are just nicer to look at. :)

  LED Lenser H7R.2  :mail:

Oddly enough, Leatherman nor LED Lenser USA have extra lithium ion battery packs for purchase. They did say NiMH can be used - but recharged out of the headlamp's recharging system, or use standard alkaline batteries.

SunTactics did say their s-Chargers can recharge LED Lenser flashlights that have USB charging ports. Their solar panels are claimed to charge as fast as standard electrical outlets. It's an option to go solar, and a 5 year warranty too.

Quote from: SunTactics
Yes, not only do they charge smartphones but also the LED Lenser USA flashlights that charge via USB. Our panels will charge any 5-volt device that could charge from a computer's USB port.

So far have used it to locate objects in the house, going out for a night time stroll, swapping out door locks at midnight, changing a toilet seal (yukk, troll snot is the worst), and outside measuring the porch. Will be using it in the storage unit later in the week.

Would be a great light when bicycling/triking too.

I just picked up a new flashlight. I got the Fenix E05, and so far so good. It has 3 brightness levels and maxes out at 85 lumens. Not bad for a AAA battery.

I finally got the Thrunite T10.  I dont know why I waited so long but I'm glad its here now.  I got it in NW tint to see what others have been talking about.  This is my first led in a warmer tint and it's pretty nice.  I am happy with the light so far and have been using it since it's been getting dark sooner.

The latest two are:

Armytek tiara a1 pro - it's a right angle headlamp but I use it as a light around the house mainly.  It has two really low modes that are quite handy at night when I don't wish to ruin night vision or worse still wake up my wife.  I've had it about 6 months or so and dropped it on hard surfaces several times by accident without any problems.  Haven't yet given it a good bath but the way things are going I expect that will happen sometime soon.  For a single aa or 14500 battery light it is excellent.

I had a very nice solar force p60 host (L2) and an extra tailcap.  However my daughter needed a decent light for work so I gave her the host along with a couple of P60 dropins.  The result was that I had a lonely tailcap and a couple of spare dropins just waiting for mating parts.  Just received the body, lanyard ring and head in the mail this week.  I've put a mild p60 dropin in it for now but plan to make a hot rod sometime soon.  It won't outperform a C8 or bigger lights but it's a very nice size and the quality is excellent.

John.
