Got a 47 quark turbo x on their black friday sale, while good in price and quality I feel this particular model should never have been made due to nature of XML emitter.

The XM-L can have some colour shifting issues due to the die size. In a tiny reflector like a Quark, it can start to look pretty ugly.

XML has a much bigger die size than other emitters, so it's pointless to put it in a thrower light. the turbo x (rated 430 lumen) has a big smooth reflector (even bigger than their regular turbo), yet my other light with a smaller orange peel texture reflector (rated 200 lumen) has a smaller and brighter hot spot.

Got a Coast G35 LED flashlight for Christmas also, claims 111 lumens, I think its about right. Runs on 3 AAA, has a single red LED also for non-reflective lighting. Not a bad unit, made in Portland, OR.

The start of my titanium torch collection....

Jetbeam TC-R3,
Klarus MiX6 Ti,
Titaner AAA Flashlight.

The jetbeam is the first torch i've owned with a selector ring and it really is a lovely thing.

The titaner impresseed me and appears to be really well made; with acme threads, a reversed on system like a mini maglite, a GITD board behind the LED so after you turn the torch off you can see it glowing green and fine machining touches all over.
Pictures of most of my work can be found on my Facebook Page.
Also have a look at my Shapeways Shop and SW Torch Shop for 3D printed items.

Very nice stuff.

I'm a big fan of the variable control thing too - got a TC-R2 :)

yeah the r3 is a little out of date now compaired to the r2, but i just really like the look of it. The r3 doesn't have the infinitely variable system of the r2, just 3 intensity modes and a strobe setting, nice positive action though.

On the titaner, the fact that the head can be fully tightened against the body while off means it's less likely to work loose and fall off, although the thread is a bit short and the o-ring isn't that stiff compaired to the competition so i'm not sure doing things this way round is a great advantage.
It only has 1 mode but i feel modes on torches this small arn't of any real use.
The board looks fairly high end and with a cree led i can't really think there's anything that could be done better.
A nice collectors piece but should survive EDC, the klarus is much smaller, impressively so in fact.

It was this.

Came this morning and was promptly sent back. Lovely light, but makes a high pitched whine when on.

Newest item then is this, Zebralight H51.

Whilst not new, this is now running on some new 18650's. Much more economical that CR123's.

I just picked up a couple of these from Tesco:

Sadly these are nowhere near as good as their old 2xC lights but at 58p each I though they were too cheap to say no too. :D
