Hammer Multi tool ?
« on: December 31, 2011, 10:18:14 PM »
Hi Guys
Picked this up a week ago just before xmas not seen one like it before or have I been looking in the wrong places ?

Seems quite sturdy as I bought 2 one is being played with while this one is still packaged all tools have positive feel to them for a cheap MT it seems not bad at all.

I love my leatherman tools like I love my lady an kids !
I just have a few more of them then the wife and kids lol :-)

Those split hammer-head plier tools have been around for a little while now Ray (do a Google search for "hammer multi tool") although I don't recall seeing that style of handle scales before. Some of them even have a hatchet head on the opposite face of the hammer. :)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Well, I guess I've always seen them as more conversation pieces than actual users. ;)  The darn handles are just too close to the head for me to get a really good Whack using one, if you follow what I'm saying :-\

Yes, those have been around for some time now. Bob is right. More of a conversation piece. The hatchet models are just slightly more useful, but the same applies. A short handle combined with not enough weight to power through your cutting needs make them not ideal MTs.

I know this is a MT forum, but when it comes to axes/hatchets I don't think I'd recommend anything but a dedicated one.

Lots to be seen here:

Hi I am with you guys on this after playing with one for a few weeks it is more of a conversation piece or fun item, I will hang onto mine but will look for a dedicated Hatchet for proper camping needs I think.
Thanks for all the replies and information/pointers man I love this site !

About where to get one.. I don't think they are in production yet :(

Last time I checked they were still in prototype stage, that's why this thread caught my attention.
