Interesting file on mystery knife

I have had this small knife for a while now and always liked the file on it. I can't remember where I got the knife the blade as WEBER stamped on it.



The inside has a regular file with a awl at the tip.



With the file in the closed position there is a file impeded on the outside. The only thing I can think that it would be used for is a nail file. Thats what I've been using it for and it works great.



I always thought it was an interesting little knife. Thought I would share.

A few Victorinox knives have long nail files like that on the backspring.  They're a bit longer and narrower, but generally shaped the same.  That is a fingernail cleaner at the end, BTW, not an awl.

Yea you can tell that the blade has been used and resharpened many times. From what I can tell the scales are made of a similar type of plastic to the early Vic Soldiers.

Interesting. I've seen a file like that on an old Ibberson knife from Sheffield, England.
