How do You Display Your Collection?
« on: January 09, 2012, 02:43:33 AM »
Hi folks, forum n00b here. How do you display your collection - if you do so at all?
I used to carry a Swisschamp every day, until the world became a much easier place to live in

This is how I store them. When I want to look at them, I just pull our a drawer or two.

Mostly they just sit in a variety of drawers as there's no one that would come to my house that would appreciate them.

That having been said though, I have often thought about a thin shelving unit with a three panel sliding glass front.  I'd probably make it about 6 foot by three feet by maybe 4 inches deep, and I'd put the shelves every six inches or so, so that the tools could be "stood up" with the pliers unfolded, and maybe plexiglass stands similar to knife stands to display the odd shaped ones that wouldn't stand on their own.

I used to occupy a night stand and one dresser drawer.  BossLady got tired of the messiness of it, so she got me this for Christmas:

Thinking of the same thing too, but a lot smaller. Something picture-frame sized that I could maybe hang on the wall. So it would be storage as well as a display..

These knife cases are from united cutlery.
Google; united cutlery uc 1338, or look at ebay.
Some knife shops sells them to.
It looks they are made for store SAK's, good quality and handy.
Prices I have seen from $8 - $30.
Whoa where did you get these?

I am awaiting a curio cabinet to display some of my SAK's and other collectibles.  For now, just safe storage on everything.
The SwissChamp is the most useful tool ever invented.
