If you could get Leatherman to make or keep a tool

If you could get Leatherman to make a certain tool what would it be ? I would like to see them remodel the Blast. Remove the Zytel plastic and make it all stainless steel. Rather than retiring the Blast as they are planning.

Yes, and make the tools accessible from the outside like a Swisstool. No one hand opening blades or anything, just a good basic tool like it is.

The remodel of the blast is called the REBAR, and it will be released very soon.  I am a die hard Blast user, always have been, and I am very happy to see the way they have done the REBAR.  The awl and serrated blade are sorely needed in the Blast and the REBAR has them.

  • Revamped Juice with better scissors and less savage drivers on the outside! More durable colouring on scales. All non-locking as before
  • For heavier work, an inside out Rebar (outside access to all tools) with no knife blades  :o and a good pair of scissors. All tools locking. Handles not spread too widely when jaws are closed please
  • Revamped Sideclip -same size - outboard tools - less drivers, add scissors. Deeper clip carry. Nick the Octane's bottle opener principle for it too - we all know LM has been "inspired by" Gerbers innovations before  :pok: Locks not necessary on something that size
  • PS4 V2 - P4 with file switched for scissors - mini driver and awl to remain  :tu:

A Micra II.  Outside accessible tools like the dear, departed Squirt S4 but all stainless (no anodized aluminum) like the Micra.

Stainless steel version of the KF4 and slightly larger plier head?

I want them to make the ST200 and Pulse again.
I really like the rocker locks for some reason

The Rebar looks ok but it doesn`t seem to have the eye glass screw drivers or scissors. The steak knife blade I can do without. I agree about the Supertool 200. The 300 is not as nice.

a C.U.T. (with scissors) civilian utility tool, rebar pliers. so a full lineup of the skeletool design.  no saw, awl instead of the brass cleaner, screwdriver instead of spike, etc.

redesign the wave Leatherman has moved further and further toward making tools for giant handed folks, I believe that with design advances we could have an outboard tool wave the size of a original or swisstool spirit w/o the bowing, and still be able to one hand open the blades.

an outboard opening rebar, with scissors.   I love it, but I would rather have a pair of scissors than a lanyard loop,
I could even live with the outboard awl from the kf4 if you guys could squeeze scissors in.

redesign the juice as unibody steel, that way we could have locking tools, larger blades, I mean flatheads,  and outboar tools. plus if done properly like the squirt a larger plier head.

add scissors and a few extra tools/bits to the skeletool.  An office version with a MUT inspired staple remover would kick tail.
I have fallen in love with my swisstool spirit, and can easily see some inspirtation from it being applied to improvements in the LM line.

I used to not understand the big deal on locking tools till my Kick bit me with its phillips, and thats the largest drive with the biggest indent, if we are going to leave nothing Undone, then we dont need an injury to make us leave it behind for the medicine cabinet.  otherwise I would make comments on the sidekick wingman, but other than suggestimg making a step up locking tool, for the line, their is a huge gap between the price points on these tools, and in many cases other than sticking it to the customer I don't see why.  Why is a wave more than a supertool?
Why is a skeletool, more than a blast? Sure a kick butt design makes me want it more, but I have yet to score a skeletool , because I just cant justify the cost of one, even if the design is awesome. plus its been out long enough to come down a bit in price.

I am also a fan of cutting engraving out, or down.  possibly offer unengraved (non spring) {though i havent tried full size personally} sidekick pliers (with replaceable cutters) in say a skeletool, obviouslly size accomodating, but charge less, so you could actually sell something similar to the original freestyle design.  but they could do a whole value line of tools. like an all steel charge.  I really want one, but I dont like the knurled screws on the alox, and I dotn like the sharp edges on my wave, the rebar is a step in the direction I am talking about. there have been alot of metal cutting and shaping advances in the past few years.  I love multitasker I am just not a extra large handed Man. I have liek medium large hands, and while I can hold the new wave, if it werent for the locking tools, and the kick butt scissors, oh and I totally forgot another universal suggestion, POCKET CLIPS ACROSS THE LINE.

I actually quit carrying my original wave due to it being on my belt, and wasnt sure I would like it, and was shpooing skeletools, but now I thing I would rather just have it all with my wave or a charge, its not that much larger and actually having a place for it im my pocket, is totally worth having it along for the ride edc.  I am actually dual carrying my wave and my spirit, I just dont have an add on clip for it, or a plan on dual carrying 2 clipped tools which might be too much, at least till i figure it out.

I shouldnt be up and havent had time to really think it out or I would post more ideas.   I just wish I had access to fabrication equipment, and had the strength in my hands to put it to use or I would heavily mod more of what I do have since no one will make it for me to buy, are you listening Leatherman/ victorinox/Multitasker?

I really like the idea of a C.U.T., a beefier version of the Skele.

A pliers based version of the Micra.  Yes, I know we have the Squirt P4 and PS4 but I much prefer the other tools on the Micra.

2nd vote for pliers based micra!

My next wish isnt for a tool, but a service.  Sell components!  Waves/Charges come apart easy enough, let me buy parts to tweak them.  I want to be able to buy a 154CM blade and upgrade my wave etc...   I lost some bolts for one wave I took apart, would love to be able to buy more.

+1

Not only just for the Waves/Charges, but maybe also for the Juice line. I would LOVE a custom juice, in the color of my choosing.

Actually, that made me think...I would love a Juice type of model the size of a Wave/Charge with non-locking tools but still in the flashy colors. Maybe that's just me, but I love a colorful EDC.
