Info on Sigg Swiss bottle
« on: January 16, 2012, 12:12:12 AM »
Swiss Man showed me a bottle of his with a swiss symbol and my wheels cranked. I went looking and found them. They are made by a company Sigg outta Switzerland. Anyways I'm considering getting one off ebay. If anyone has ANY info at all about these bottles please share. Thanks Ash

Nothing specific but I will say that Sigg are a very well respected name here in the UK, their bottles are the benchmark by which all others are judged. :tu:

Excellent products.  They seal well.  I have a few of them and use them.

I actually prefer hydroflask.  They keep hot liquids hot and cold ones cold.  Plus they're stainless steel and have no lining coating (which Sigg has).

I've used Sigg bottles for about 15 years, mainly when hiking.

The bottles are made of aluminium, formed from a single piece. The inside is coated with an eco liner, which keeps the contents tasting 'fresh'. I've only ever had water in mine, and there has never been any after taste or smells.

Bottles are available in several sizes, with the traditional screw cap or sports cap, and in various colours.

My only criticism of these bottles is that they can dent easily if dropped. However, that does not affect the liner nor the functionality of the bottle. I've damaged quite a few, but never broken one.

Do they not keep hot hot and cold cold? I'm mainly interested due to the swiss symbol. Lol

The bottles are single walled and have no insulating properties.

Nice topic... I'm looking for some mugs or simmilar thing... I've narrowed my search to Contigo so far.

Are those mugs from Sigg spill proof (no leak no spill)?

One of main reasons I narrowed to Contigo is spill resistance... I want something I can toss arround and not be affraid to spill whatever is inside...
There is method to my madness....

Not just spill resistent, if you put carbonated beverages in a Sigg, it will pressurize with out leaking.  Excellent seals.

i like the look of those hydroflasks

i have a waterdog made by one green bottle and would recommend one. They are made from stainless steel you can have a smoothie in it one day and water the next without it tasting funny.
