Just got my Paratool,
altrady got a PPP and various other multitools (Sprit, Rebar, Swisstool, Blast)

After a few little mods, the Paratool is now my UK legal EDC.
Just waiting on a bit driver set and saw to arrive.

Added some scissors and a bit driver. Scissors needed a few MM off the tips to fit properly.
The plier heads don't fully click into place due to the bottle opener, but its hardly noticable.

Here are some pics

Welcome to the forum, kerwin. :waving:

Nice tool loadout on thet Para.

One question though, are you sure that having it's UK legal, I don't think the law applies to plain edge blades only, so the serrated one might be an issue.

Nice looking tool! I like the tool loadout. Does the Paratool have locking blades?

Nope, it functions the same as any multi with inside tools ala PST, but as you close the handles to use it, the handles interfere with the knife blade (and other tools too) to fold all the way closed so it has been discussed that this could be seen as a problem in the eyes of the law. ::)

Hey I have one of those SOG's.

I swapped out the file for a seat belt cutter.I don't see that cutter on the SOG website.

I would like to have the scissor option,as they have proven their usefulness on other multi-tools.

Though I haven't tried them personally,  I think pretty much everyone round here has agreed SOG scissors pretty much suck, so, I'd stick with your V-cutter ;)

This is where a forum, such as this, pays dividends. The information gleaned from using these tools, that is passed on to other members, saves time, money and frustration.

Thanks for the tip about the scissors.

Any differences between the two you have regarding tool selection or shape, torx or 1/4" screws?

They are both identical and one even appears to be brand new. The newer version wears a Cordura  Velcro case and the other, an original Blackie Collons straight drop resin retention. Love it! Sog is winning it for me lately what with the ability to modify their tools to your liking, their precision engineering, compound leverage. All the other SOG  models are some form of everything you're likely to need and little you're not. I'm a bigger SOG fan everyday.  Both have same 1/4 screw takedown procedures.

color me confused though, I thought the sog scissors wouldn't fit, I guess it's because they are a little long and need to be trimmed?

They should fit right in as far as I know. They are no longer than the file or knife blade.a couple of others here have put them in the Paratool.

Just picked up an older paratool w/ blackie collins sheath off of ebay. I really like it and will carry it over some of my other multi-tools because the sheath is so dang nice, and it has a leatherman style can opener. Why did SOG drop that style of can opener for the SAK style one?

I grabbed a couple of old ParaTools from eBay for a decent price. They were filthy and with some surface rust but after a thorough cleaning they are like new! The old construction and tools feels so much better than the new one. Sturdier yet smoother to operate at the same time.

It fits, but when you close the pouch the attachmentring pushes against the leather, so I think it'll be ruined quickly..  :)
