I finished up just a regular urban pioneer this morning... but I still love the look of the red every time I use it.  Nothing like a shiny Vic wearing hard anodized red in the light of the rising sun... :D

My last minute decision to have a red mod instead of green, now means that I shall simply have to have another :D

I finished up another full Ti conversion today.  This one didnt take me as long as the first, but it still is quite a bit of work to hand sand all the Ti parts.   :D

Call me picky, but the liners look a little bit too small for the custom spring.

It looks more pronounced in the photos than real life.  The difference is the cad file I gave the waterjet guy who cut the liners for me, was exactly the right size, but the waterjet did not make a perfectly perpendicular cut.  It kind of blows out the back.  Entry hole is one kerf, and the exit is much wider.  This is normal, but I did not know this at the time.  The next run I will adjust the file size to account for the angle.  Its a learning process, but eventually when I get a CNC up and running, I will be cutting all my own parts and not relying on a 3rd party.  Then a heat treat oven and I can do anything I need to at that point, like cut my own tools and heat treat them.  Make any sort of blade or tool I can think up :D

I finally got a mod request needing pliers so I got to deploy my custom spring for that.  I basically ground the profile to match that of the farmer saw backspring, and it worked out just perfect.  I had to also of course shape the pliers to fit, but that is needed with the dual saw back spring approach as well.

Here was a fun one for me to figure out.  The customer wanted the philips added, but not to lose any other tools.  I added a second opener layer spring so the can opener and bottle opener each had there own spring, but shared it for the philips.  It turned out beautifully and has the added side benefit of giving the philips more space which prevents it from hitting and chipping the scale.

Both nail nicks are perfectly accessible, no problem getting the bottle opener out.  This was the best configuration to choose as the can opener works best being nearest the outside.

Is there a washer between the openers? Now that I think of it, the springs wouldn't be wide enough then.

Nice job!

Dayum! That is slick, and a near perfect EDC item.

That has to be the best 3 layer SAK! Does the phillips driver need a spacer or shim, or does it match the thickness of the other 2 drivers?

It does need a spacer on each side yes.  I dont know if it counts for a 3 layer, maybe its a 3.5 layer...

It works out well though because without the extra space the philips can hit the scale and start chipping it.

I would but that SAK is gone to it's new owner.  I put the tools in that configuration as it is the only way to fit them together.  Pliers can't go up against a scale without adding additional spacing.  If the go against the blade layer they must open opposite the blade or they block the nail nick.
