Okay LM collectors... get ready for a wallet vacuuming!!!

Every time I look at these, it makes me wonder if it'd be possible to polish a Wave up nice and shiny.

It's been done....

25th Anniversary Wave is really hard to take pictures of and it is a very nice tool.  Here is the Leatherman Webpage:  http://www.leatherman.com/product/Anniversary_Wave

Yeah, the 25th is really nice. I meant that I wonder if it'd be feasible to do it to one's own Wave, with a Dremel or something. I'd love a shiny Wave that I could use every day.

Max,

It would be much better to just buy a 25th Wave and use it.  The 25th Wave is put together better than a standard Wave in my opinion.  The tool is polished before being assembled and it would be very difficult to successfully polish to that finish with a small tool.  Part of the problem is the Waves are only brush finished and you need a pretty good wheel to get the brush finish off then you can polish.  And the tools all are really nice and smooth on the 25th the liner locks hookup as good or better than the majority of Charges.

The one shown in my picture was purchased used and I carried it occasionally until Tim Leatherman signed it.  Now it is locked away.  If you look hard enough you can find them on ebay, there is one on there now...very pricey in my opinion at $ 250.00 and $ 12.95 shipping.  But it has been for sale for the past several months that I have noticed.

Yeah, I kind of figured the brushed finish would make it difficult. If the 25th were still a current model I'd consider it, but I'm not in the market to spend $250 on any MT right now, especially not a rare one that I'd feel weird about having as a user.

It's only a couple years now until the 30th, maybe I'll wait and see what they come up with for that.

Out of curiosity does anyone know the MSRP of the 20th Anniversary Wave, 25th Anniversary Wave and the 25th Anniversary Charge?

When I see these $40k multi's I can't help think what LM would do if you used it, wrecked it, and sent it in for warranty  :P

Al,

I think in the interest of science you need to buy at least the Charge Acanto and then use but don't abuse it until you have a warranty issue.  Can you imagine the look on the person's face who opens the box to find a trashed Acanto?

I would not ask you to go full bore and get the Del Rey because I want you to have a few bucks left for warm beer.
