Welcome To K.L.A....
« on: January 27, 2012, 07:20:26 AM »
Welcome To Knife Lovers Anonymous(K.L.A.).
We Are Here To Support You Throughout Your Problem/Issue And Most Likely Encourage It. So If You'd Like To Stop Loving Knives... This Is Probably Not The Program For You. If You'd Like To Continue Loving Knives And Be Surrounded By Other Knife Lovers... WELCOME!!!

I'll Start Since I'm The Creator Of K.L.A.

Hello, My Name Is Jessie.
I'm 20 Years Old And When It Comes To Knives And Gear Alike, I Have A Serious Problem.
I Have No Intentions Of "Fixing" This Problem. But I Figured... They Have Programs And Groups For EVERYTHING... Why Not Knife Lovers?
Anyways... I Started With Cheap Knives... Then I Got My First Kershaw.. Then My First CRKT.. Then My First Gerber... Etc Etc Etc.
Now I Have Roughly:
11 Folding Knives (Ranging From $10 - $110)
1 Fixed Blade
1 Balisong
16 Traditional Knives
20+ SAK's
3 Multi-Tools

And I'm Still Addicted... I Do Not Plan To "Cure" This Addiction But Rather.. Add Fuel To The Fire. That's Why I'm Here.  :D

So Welcome To K.L.A. Introduce Yourself And We're Here To Support Your Knife Issue, And Encourage You.

Thanks,
Jessie

I'll remain anonymous for awhile, since it's Knife Lovers Anonymous...   ;)

I usually hang out at the Leatherman sub-forum but last week while I was searching for some leathermans, I came across some beautiful knives on the web... so I checked out Gerber's knife collection, then Buck's collection, then Benchmade's, Kershaw's... and now I have a couple in the mail.   :D

So I log in to MTO and see this thread's title, and thought to myself "Wow, a MTO crime-fighting team, I wanna be a part of it!"

Then I realised KLA stands for Knife Lovers Anonymous and not Knifewielders League America... maybe I read too many comics... (JLA -> Justice League of America)
You have the right tool... but do you know how to use it the right way?

Some beautiful knives you have there.  My favorite are my SAKs, ranging from Classics to Swiss Champs and let's not forget the Alox   If I leave the house without a minimum of my Rambler, I feel naked  :o

The SwissChamp is the most useful tool ever invented.

Most support groups celebrate time "clean", which would defeat the purpose of this, I think  . If you hit 90 days without getting a new knife, for example, you could get a Vic Classic instead of a coin. However, getting the knife would count as a relapse, and you'd have to start all over again! >:D :D

I have to say that this is the fourth time I am posting to this thread. My computer kept crashing.

I actually have no idea how many knives I have at the moment.
Most of my folders are benchmade and spyderco. I tend to go for high end production types.

If I can make it ninety days without getting a knife, I would probably need to reward myself with a sebenza... I am usually lucky if I can make it a few days without getting something.
