I believe I have heard sellers purposely do this to keep the listing up until they get more in stock. No one will pay that much and they do not have to close the listing then post everything again once they get more.

I'm always suspicious when there is only one bider on a high price auction. I have the same thinking too, that all these atrocious prices do not reflect the true demand-supply situation. Potential buyers, especially for such rare and expensive SAKs, often refer to past records of ebay transactions. By using two accounts to put up the auction and then jack up the price, a seller creates the false impression that the particular model in his possession is actually worth that much, so that buyers will jump into it the next time they see it put up for sale again.

Potential buyers, especially for such rare and expensive SAKs, often refer to past records of ebay transactions. By using two accounts to put up the auction and then jack up the price, a seller creates the false impression that the particular model in his possession is actually worth that much, so that buyers will jump into it the next time they see it put up for sale again.

Yes, it would be easy to set up two paypal accounts and make the transactions look legitimate.  Be careful out there.
