My sentiments exactly. If not for the blade stamp and the weird shield on the cellidor, I would have bidded on it too

Looks like an old Spanish Aitor. In more recent times that logo is a common Chinese ripe-off.

Can you explain how those biddings went?
There are always two guys with the same offer

Also, with those price steps, me thinks someone is trying to drive the price up...

It looks not unreasonable the current winner has put a huge initial bid in and the other has jumped it a few times the other guy seems to be bidding in a more Ricardo standard style :)

If you bid below the current max it shows the same amount for both bids (but the first bid always takes priority)

Not Vic, but the price is so ridiculously high and the seller so clueless I had to post it here.

Seller admits that it might even be a modern KA-BAR, which I'm certain it is (never saw an actual issue MK II Fighting Knife with that "USMC" Sheath, nor did I see one with "USMC" anywhere on the knife itself, only "US" or "USN MKII"), yet they charge more than 3 times what a new Ka-Bar USN MKII is. Looks obviously used, and the sheath repaired   This is what I tell people is the other end of uneducated sellers--they charge stupid money because they think its old and worth something, without even bothering to research.

"Obviously used" is right. You can see how dull it is in the photos. And that sheath is rough. Not to mention the foolish, dishonest inclusion of the word "mint" in the listing.

Er, in 1972 the hook was 20 years off.   And, most backside tools didn't get introduced until the SwissChamp.  This seller is completely clueless about this Ranger:

Another non-Vic, and a clueless "it's old, and thus worth a lot of money' seller.

It's obviously what's left of an old knife someone dropped.   It's not still in the forge block, that's what's left of the handle.  They want $49 for what is literally a big hunk of rust.

... that's an old letter-opener which was made from  a bomb- or grenade splinter - quite often to be found as a war souvenir in Europe.
Judging from the thickness of the material, the angle of the torn edges and the small grooves on the convex side I'd say it was an artillery grenade.

You can find these letter-openers on fleamarkets for about 20€, but then they're not as rusty as this
