Dug around in the trash and came up with a return address name of S. Sbojadinovic. I was recalling an earlier package when I thought the name was that of a woman, but it wouldn't be the first time my memory's been wrong.

Karl
Slobodan's wife is Svetlana  ;)

Thanks for proving my memory isn't totally shot (yet).

Thanks also to Jazzbass for his insights into rarity. Now if I can just beat him, and Stressmaster, and I Can Fix That to the next Luxury Motorist (fat chance!).

OK, Jazz said he has 3 of them, I have one and I think Francis(ICFT) has one too. That just leaves everyone else here who does not have one to bid on it. So Karl, it looks like it your time to make a move on it.  :pok: :pok: :pok:

And the lowest price I've seen for a Luxury Automobile was just over $50 if I remember correctly.

I would have bid on the Mauser, but dropped crazy money on other knives.

The "Life Series" set actually looks a bit suspicious.  Stolen photo, copied text, seller has zero feedback... it's just not very comforting even if it is legit.

There was one that sold in Switzerland for $150CHF or so not that long ago, I could not buy it, but I'd pay into the $200 range for the set.

Am I missing something?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Victorinox-Pocket-Knife-110-/310391016356?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4844bf0ba4#ht_2732wt_1193
Check the other photos... It's a matter of what the knife is missing... Now it is worth less than $10.

Here is the next WTH on some eBay seller's idea of Good Condition.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-STERLING-SILVER-NES-925-CLASSIC-SD-Swiss-Army-Knife-NICE-NO-RESERVE-/380426535156

Yep, its NICE! Seriously, I do not think I have ever seen such a beat to crap Sterling Classic before now. Looks like it survived a bomb blast and then sand blasting.

Seems a little high.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/320874461103?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_665wt_961
:oSure does, but I have seen one go for over $300 too.  ::)

if you look at the bid history on this one you will see that the winner made one crazy high bid back on the 28th of march and then sat back and waited. i looked at this auction earlier in the day when it was at $51. so did someone else who came along with their own crazy high bid which was $133.13. but alas, after placing that bid they were immediately trumped by the guy who bid back on the 28th of last month. not to be outdone crazy high bidder #2 makes 5 more bids in an attempt to be THE high bidder. his final bid was $255.13 and he still didn't top crazy high bidder #1, so he bailed on the auction leaving the guy who made his one and only crazy high bid on the 28th of march holding the bag and winning the mauser.

in my opinion this auction definitely found a well deserved home here on this thread entitled "Crazy." i'm still curious, though? i wonder just how crazy was the ultimate winner's one and only bid? it could have been $500 or $1000??? in any event, i doubt that he thought anyone would bid the knife up as high as they did. it was interesting to watch, though.

There is a lot of crazy on eBay these days.

Thankfully, when I first started collecting SAKS, there wasn't that much crazy around.

Note the name on the main blade (third photo). A pretty pricey Classic.

yeah, but hey! it's not everyday that you can pay the high price for a chintzy loveless look-a-like and get a vic classic. i mean, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!
