Perhaps the coolest SAK I've gotten in a while
on: February 17, 2012, 01:31:27 AM
Admittedly I haven't gotten a lot of SAKs (or much else) lately, but that shouldn't short change this beauty.

Thanks to Andy (EODTech) for pointing this one out to me.

Of course he sent it to me for the Jeep image not the WWII reference, but I'm ok with that!

For those who know me, I have an interest in military marked SAKs, and while this one may not specifically be military marked, I consider it close enough.

Here are a few others in my collection that are in the same category:

I love this knife!  :D

Hey that "United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees"... the guy is portuguese and how do you have that knife and I don't?!  :) See António Guterres

But that D-Day one looks the coolest.

It's probably for the same reason I had to buy the Canadian military knife from a guy in the US!

Yeah, me too.  As soon as I saw it I had to grab it and I've never seen another one like it.

Here's another version of the D-Day knife, and a couple of Jeeps to keep an eye out for (Trekker and Recruit).

Thanks for pointing those out Karl.  The Jeep name has been whored out to so many crappy tools that it's nice to see it on a good one.

Know what you mean, Def. It always amazes me when a top brand like Mercedes shows up on a piece of Chinese crap. You wonder if the company approved it or if its just a bit of brand piracy.

More likely a dump truck full of money changed hands.  Also, not a lot of people really take the time to think about these things and the bottom line is much more attractive on 100,000 hunks of crap than 100,000 decent knives.

Nice. But what's the small serrated blade used for?

Maybe cutting the seatbelt in an emergency.

Those old Jeeps didn't have seatbelts...   :ahhh

This is the Hunter model:

Which would mean that small serrated blade is for gutting.  In the event of an accident I'm certain the blade would work well on seatbelts if necessary.

Def, just noticed this post, and was wondering if the Canadian Defence knife ia an Adventurer or a Centurion model?  ???

This one looks a bit interesting (but not an EDC).  Any ideas on where I might find one these days ?

Yes, Jeep is like Winchester. They will paste their good name on anything.

I have that one gregozedobe. It is the most interesting of the lot. Cheap but of an interesting design.

Def, nice military SAKs there. I would love to get my paws on a Canada Defense one as well. That one is a great find. That you had to buy it from an American...classic. :D
