John-Benzen, a Division of Chicago Tools.

That's what is says on the packet.

This name adorns a reasonable range of Folding knives, Multitools, and torches in the 10-30 dollar range ($AU).

Online, many stores seem to stock them, though I can not find a manufacturers website.

Some of us have encountered (and even gone so far as to Review, eh) Sheffield branded tools - these seem to be in a similar field, so I wonder who else has come across this line of products for the less quality-snobbish. (They're just as likely I suppose to be called anything, the tools themselves carry no branding, only the packaging)

Those John Benzen tools are very common here in our place. The packaging is plastic clamshell. The size and style ranges from Micra lookalike to Supertool lookalike and they are cheap. Micra size is 350.00 pesos or 7.50 USD, while Supertool size is 750.00 pesos or 18.75 USD.
I scrutinized the packaging and I can’t find the country of origin.

I can not find either John Benzen, or Chicago Tools websites.

I did see a "John Benzen" C-Clamp at an online store somewhere though, so it would seem the company brands many and varied Hardware and Tools.

I won't make any guesses as to whether the brand is U.S owned or not, names mean nothing.

Several of the websites I have encountered are Non-English.

I'm guessing they are simply branded, and finding the Manufacturer is likely a task ASIS ninjas could not complete.

I've never seen the John Benzen brand before. Maybe its an eastern hemisphere exclusive?
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Based on workmanship, I am pretty sure that it is not made in the USA.

Oh, I doubt it is USA made - but I'm not sure if it is even USA owned.
