I intend to, although this year will make three years in a row that I've missed it.

Extenuating circumstances really stink sometimes.

would you feel less threatened if the MManager pointed an arrow towards you?

Glad you enjoyed it.  I'm in talks with Paramount now to bring it to the big screen in 2018.  I'm hoping Danny Devito will be available to play me.

Fun read, and some interesting insight.  Well done.  Who would think a forum about multi tools would be interesting enough to spend all that time on a web startup?  You really do have a screw loose....lol

And nothing any MT can do about it, not even the mighty SURGE. A SURGEon maybe with a scalpel... although lobotomy is frowned upon nowadays.

Danny Devito? Surely you should get Vin Diesel or somebody like that...  :D

In any case, this place is like second home to many of us, so... Keep up the good work!!  :salute:

PS: Maybe Jason Statham tho, I'm sure he can say "eh" with enough confidence....

It has been a hell of a ride, that's for sure.  I'm glad folks are still appreciating this thread.  It took me a while to write all of that out, but it was entirely worth it!

I was going to drop my 'LOL DID NOT READ' meme, but then I read it despite myself. 😆

Interesting. How many members do we have now?

It's funny that the blade-only guys gave you no respect. When I was into blades, I was always trying to convince myself that a knife is all a fellow needs. Then, I tried a SAK again and that fantasy was all over.

You should snipe some blade only guys from the blade-only sites, as a reward for their arrogance.

I used to be a blade only guy! So I guess you could say you've already sniped at least one.

No need to snipe, next time they need to grab something, remove a bolt, de-hook a fish, or tighten a screw, ask them why they don't use their knife to do it!

There's actually another part to this story that I believe I have forgotten to tell.  It actually predates MTO and is more Parr of the SOSAKOnline origin, but as that was how we developed MTO it's probably fitting enough to include here.

The first server company we were contracted with was Belaxis, a company that Esteban worked for.  Esteban was a SOSAK member and responded when I asked for someone who knew about websites to contact me, and offered to help my build the new site, so naturally I went with his company.

His boss, Sebastian, sent me a contract for the hosting which, considering they were in Argentina, was written all in Spanish.  I don't speak Spanish, so I just wrote one of the few Spanish things I know at the end and sent it back.

Confused by this, Sebastian asked what it meant when someone writes "dos cervezas por favor" at the bottom of a contract.   Esteban laughed so hard he almost fell out of his chair and assured Sebastian that this qualified as a signature for this particular client.  :D

So there you have it- our first server contract was secured by a drink order.
