In an effort to help those who are on the edge of purchasing a Skinth sheath, but aren't sure which one to get, I thought it may be helpful to see the loads that others have been using a Skinth for. I started a similar thread on the EDCForums, nut as many folks were still awaiting the arrivals of their Skinth, most of the comments didn't include pics.
I know that Metropolicity has a full schedule right now, but noticed that several MTO members have their's already.
I've had mine for several weeks, so I'll include some pics. I encourage anyone else to do so to.
Here's mine...a SkinthXL in coyote. I've got the H&K clip on a velcro tab so I can put it between the front flap & the pouch, but I rarely use it. (I'm not sure if Metro will be doing that little bit of custom work right now) It's also got paracord loops on the side tubes and the belt loop is actually 2 strips of 1" webbing with velcro so I can use it on my belt or pals webbing when needed.
Here is a bird's eye view of the open pouch, loaded.
Here is a spread of my load-out.
#1. A VIC Spirit.
#2. An "L" wrench with a #2 phillips bit on board.
#3. A VIC Ratchet with the extension on board(with a couple of o-rings to keep it from slipping too far through. That little gem I learned from forum member Nuphoria.)
#4. A VIC bitcase with the following: Modified 5/16" & 1/4" nut drivers; #3, #1, and #0 phillips bits; SW3 and SW4 allen bits; #20, #15, and #10 Torx bits.
#5. A 4" locking type plier
#6. A County Comm Rescue Blade in black
#7. A County Comm 4" Widgey Bar
#8. A small rectangular magnet attached to that. (Comes in handy sometimes. Like when I dropped drain plate screw down the shower drain today)
#9. A 1/4" drive X 1/4" socket adapter(with o-rings on board)
#10. The VIC Corkscrew w/jeweler's mini screwdriver
#11. The Coast 1XAAA G-10 flashlight I got for the price of shipping when I filled out the online survey about another Coast light.
Last pic... the SkinthXL molle mounted in my Hazard4 Kato.
