Okay, here's a very special pet:
This cute litlle animal I have found in my aquarium.
Now I know why the coral were always bitten off.   :bnghd:

Well, she was able to train her owner so he could do these things for her. Mine make it so.  :o

Trip to the vets with Milo yesterday for his boosters and anal glands cleared out (he's been rubbing his bum on the floor the last couple of days). I think he hates me at the moment, even treats would't get me a cuddle after we got home

I had the vet check his eyes while we were there as his vision is getting very bad. I told him about the bit of panic he had on Sunday while walking him when he couldn't find me until I called his name really loud (he's nearly deaf to), and I was standing not 10 feet away from him. His brother (who lives with my uncle) is totally blind now, and the vet thinks it won't be long until Milo is the same.

I don't usually walk him on a lead where I take him, but I think it's time to keep him on it all the time when out and about so he knows I am always close and doesn't panic again.  I bought him a new retractable one after the vet visit with a 7m long string on it so he can still do some running about while he's on it.

He's a happy little soul despite he ailments.

Poor Milo!

I usually help Bonnie feel better about having the vet seeing to her anal glands by having mine done at the same time.

They are stoic creatures aren't they? They cope much better than we would in the same circumstances.

It's funny how sometimes a leash can be more for their confidence in knowing you are around than a method of keeping them from running away or getting into trouble!

Daisy's eyes are getting a bit cloudy so I think her eyesight is going, but she still sees well enough to do all of the things she wants to do, and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her hearing, even if she does pretend there is from time to time!  :P

Oh yes, selective hearing on most dogs. Totally ignore everything until you rustle a biscuit/cookie wrapper, or open the fridge door, etc

It's amazing how certain things must have a very special auditory frequency that somehow manages to pierce through even the deafest dog's impairment!   :D

One of the three cats in the flock at Casa de TJ has been in the vet hospital since Thursday with some stomach complications. Her name is Skylar.  Thursday morning she was puking her brains out, not eating and just looked like she got hit by a bus. She wasn't any better Thursday night so we took her to the vet and they kept her overnight for observations. Turns out that she needed surgery. Surgery was successful yesterday and they removed a tumor from her inside that was about the size of a tennis ball. She is getting a visit from us today to see how she is. She should be able to come home tomorrow. Here is to a speedy recovery!

I'm glad to hear she's ok. Tumors are nothing to screw around with.  I'm glad they were able to take it out successfully though.

I hope she heals up quick and gets back to being her old self soon!

Small dogs and a boa huh?

I'm going to assume that you don't let them all play together....  :ahhh

I often think about how much easier my life would be if I had small dogs instead of the giant beasts I have!

No boss man. De snek she never outside her enclosure unless puppies are in another room behind a shut door...I love de pooches too much to risk dat!

Rhiannon STAYS well fed as well. She will often stretch out beside me, and lay her head on my shoulder and sleep...usually signified by no tongue flicking.

I once owned a 18 ft female Burmese Python that weighed over 120 pounds. When she died I was really upset.

The key is to keep them well fed, warm, hydrated and securely locked away. I use ratchet straps that wrap around her enclosure, and the lid is hinged to a large squat heavy wooden table. VERY HEAVY...the straps wrap around everything.

I kept the Big Burm in this in a seperate room behind closed doors and she never escaped

The thing with small dogs is they take up just as much space, because their attitude fills in the rest  :D

Maybe the attitude of a small dog counts for a lot, but I have to think that a 10-20 pound dog would fit in my kayak a lot better than my 120 pound dog would.  Plus Daisy isn't much of a swimmer so if she went overboard I would be very unhappy, and they don't seem to make life vests for dogs that size.  Or if they do, I've never seen them in a store.
