I'm in.

This thing feels great, really dense and robust. A lot nicer than my other LMs (Kick and Skeletool).

That's a cool looking clip you have on your Rebar. It appears to be a Kick clip setup?

I am thinking about potentially thinking about switching to a Rebar. Are all of the tools lockable like on the ST300?
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Just realised I have both an old and new style file as well.  One other difference I can see is that the old style file sits at exactly the same hight as the rolled edge, on the new style it sits just a touch lower than the edge.  This means you don't get the teeth of the file digging into your hand quite so readily.

Of course that could just as easily be just a bit of manufacturing variation, anyone else want to check?
Does all this meen that as a semi collecter I have to get the new version as well. :o :D

I don't know what you paid but cost would be a consideration to me in whether or not I carried it.

Introducing the Rebar PS(V)

Thought I could fit a Victorinox 91mm scissors which I had available.

Step 1, free up a long tool position.  Decided the serrated knife would be most easily covered.  In fact reduced in length and ground down at the tip very slightly it fits beside the (thin) woodsaw.

Step 2, decide which short tool to sacrifice.  Decided I didn't really need a can opener and thought I could open bottles with another carry or the remaining tools.  Actually I retained the bottle opener cut down similar to the very useful Dime package opener profile.  So still need to sacrifice a short tool.  Decided on the awl which I have never used as an awl only to get knots out and I think the small driver will suffice.

The scissors was drilled out from 2.5mm in 0.5mm stages to 4.8mm, what us limeys call 3/16th I think.  The scissors handle needed slight profiling to clear the locking bar pivot pocket.  Apart form that no other adjustments required.  It's not even tight in the bay though I had selected that bay as being very slightly wider than the others.

Shipment tracking shows out for delivery but apparently USPS is running behind in my area today. It's normally here by now. This is my first BO tool...

I wanna be in the cool kids club!!!  :ahhh

Brother Wild, when you get that new BO Rebar, rub every surface vigorously with a paper towel.  That will remove the black residue that would otherwise end up on your hands.  You just have to do it once, and you are groovy after that.  Rock on.

LOVE this black oxide finish. I also can't say enough how much I love the compactness of this guy. Still built like a tank too. Slips easily right into my 5th jeans pocket.

It's funny. I keep comparing the Rebar to the PST II and keep thinking, "This is huge!" But when you compare it to the others, it's really one of the smaller full-size tools. It's smaller and lighter than the Wave and Charges. I keep saying it's too big to carry all the time, but people are carrying it as a "small" tool.

To me, it's perfect for the pocket. Probably because my Leatherman progression went:

PST (lost) > Wave > Rebar

When I brought home the Wave, it felt ginormous. I picked up a Skeletool for something lighter but it's more a pocket knive with a couple of extras rather than a multitool in my opinion. The Rebar hits the sweet spot in function and size, for me at least. :)
