Got another Rebar and this one is from Demel and has the Wave/Blast plier head and scissors in it already  I carried it today and now I am on the fence about which plier head I :like: better now ??? I do find it handy that you can change the cutters on the other plier head but I think that I get better cutting results from this type plier head  Oh well I shall carry both either way :D

That was was the same trouble I had. The replaceable cutters seem like the best thing since sliced bread, but many times using them I actually wished I had the wave plier head. It really comes down to preference.

Yeah I remember thinking that the replaceable cutters were neat but after using the other plier head again I wished that less had the replaceable cutter now  :D

I guess I would like the cutters better if they had an Allen wrench to keep them tight when they loosen though

Very nice one Poncho. What was the source of the file? Does it have diamond on one side, metal file on the other and saw at the edge? I'd like to have all those three features in my Rebie, including saw that really cuts metal.

Yes it is a diamond file from a Wave and my good friend SteveC made this lovely file fit into the Rebar  He took a Dremel and cut the tang into the shape of the stock file and then I ended up with it :D I really never cut metal with the file I just usually use it for taking burrs off things and sharpening stuff from time to time and the diamond file excels at this  :like:

I consider Surge file for that place because it is easy available as a spare part. Will it fit? of course with reasonable portion of grinding ;)

 Not sure if there is enough there to grind into the proper shape   Be great if it would work though as those are more readily available than any other LM file :tu:

That extra clip is what gives Rebar a totally different dimension. Wish LM included it as an option, though.

Good job!  :tu:

Nope   I just happened to notice that I could see the ones you posted today.  I'm not sure when they actually started showing again.  Glad they are though :)

The Rebar is destined for my "Emergency Bag" which I take with me on my boat. It will not replace my Surge which is my EDC.

It is a dandy tool for an emergency bag for sure :tu: After modding mine with scissors, a diamond file  and a clip it has become my favorite tool and now that I have another with scissors and the older style plier head there us not many days that the Rebar isn't perfect for me as I usually carry one or the other unless I am just going in favor of variety :D
