I've got an echo saw  that I badly bent the bar on a few years ago,I removed the bar , intending to get a new one, and put the motor   In the shed, anyway nearly 3 years later it started up fine I couldn't believe it. I doubt our Stihls at work would do that , especially the newer ones which we have loads of problems with.

I didn't even know they still made saws, and if they do. Like most companys now, they won't make them like they use to

+1 I have an old Echo I use for limbing, it's a great little bombproof saw, but mine only has a 16" blade. My felling saws are McCullochs, which are getting hard to find parts for. 1 is a '64 (87cc), the other is an '89 (70cc) both now obsolete, but agree they don't make them like they used to.  :-\

I need to get a bigger saw, but I can't bring my self to by the brand's I have access to here. You think they would have good ones being Australia and considering how bussy it is around here. But at normal hardware stores the best ones they sell is makita and royobi not a fan of royboi and I love my makita power tools but not sure about a petrol chain saw from them

Can get stihl at shops that only sell chainsaws and lawnmowers but they cost a arm and a leg

Yeah stihl is probably the most used saw brand over here but the newer made ones arnt a patch on the older made ones.
