Blinking eBay
« on: June 10, 2012, 09:29:21 PM »
I just tried to bid on a Sak on eBay USA.
But every time I placed my bid I was denied along with a message saying I could not circumvent eBay UKs rules regarding knife sales.
What a git.
Is there anyway I as a resident of the UK I can buy SAKS from eBay USA .
Thanks.

Your account is registered in UK so that's why, if you make a new one based in US then you can bid.

For that I would have to create a new email. Address and would I be able to link my PayPal to two different eBay accounts. As I would not want to close down my existing eBay account.

I have tried every way, it comes down to you have to log in to place a bid and which ever way you come at it when you log in you log in to your account.

I have spoken to the seller who sent me a link which when I bid it accused me of bidding on my own item.

I've done it before and pretty sure linking paypal isn't required.

While I certainly don't think anyone should have to spend more than they need to, one has to wonder what good is something that is half the price that you can't get, versus something twice the price that you can...

It sucks that eBay has decided to pull that "No knives for naughty Europeans" BS, but that is one of the main reasons behing starting EDCSource in the first place.

There would be too much deception involved. I set up a new hotmail account using my correct details then tried to register with EBay USA. But you have to give an address to register and as soon as I tick country united kingdom it redirects me to eBay UK so I would have to lie and give a false address in the states as my home address. And lying does not sit easy with me so i will leave it.
