Ahaha! I just spotted this thread!

I ordered one of these from Heinnie's on Friday and it just arrived, and I must say I'm impressed!

I'm pleasantly surprised (as a Gerber virgin) to find that it's one of the original US made Multi Pliers, in it's (tatty) plastic packaging - looks to me like they've been found tucked away in a warehouse somewhere...

The Black Oxide doesn't half come off on your hands! Heh heh!

It's a really nice tool, I'm liking it very much. There's something agricultural yet aesthetically pleasing about the design - it's a bit rattly and yet feels like it'll last for decades. The tools are a bit hard to get at but I don't mind one bit (I'm not a fan of outside layer tools a la Leatherman having had a Wingman's knife open in my pocket.)

The drivers are a bit short, but a that's a proper Phillips driver in there!

Every negative has a positive to offset it. What a cracking piece of kit!

Scissors would make it perfect but hey, that's splitting hairs.

For £20, I couldn't be happier with my first Gerber.

Mines here too  :D Eddie your so right about the black coming off and mine too looks like its been in a warehouse for quite some time.

Heres the pics so far

My only disappointment is the finnish on the inside of the pliers , looks like there was a problem with the casting of the plier head .  Anyone else got this on theres or is it just mine ?
