I chatted live with some DinoDirect customer service person and tried to talk about a refund (through their options & stuff there) ... the person repeated about three times that they'd been working on my order, but currently there'd been great demand on this product and it was very popular and that once they got it, they'd ship it, blah blah blah, I once again mentioned something about a refund and the guy/gal yet again asked me to be patient and allow them more time to work on my order *crazy*. Anyway, I didn't have time to argue and as it isn't that expensive, I guess I'll put up with waiting ....

I just received a Trustfire F20. For $11.70 shipped it is very best deal.Just waiting for the night to test it and compare to EOS A3. The flashlight has some cons, but it is ok for the price.

Fenix E01 (single mode AAA) or if you're willing spend a couple of bucks more: Olight i3 EOS (3-mode twisty running on AAA).

I forgot: Olight with detachable clip (Allen key supplied with the torch), 3 modes give more flexibility, single mode Fenix has run-time-optimized driverr.

@Muro, thanks :) I already have one Fenix E01, but if that Sunwayman I ordered doesn't arrive soon, I may order another Fenix...

Hey, guys, have you seen this flashlight somewhere around? I tried to find it on eBay, but failed  And I bet it would be much cheaper from eBay rather than our sites where you also pay for shipping:

Led Lenser A2, 1AAA, 24 lumens

I'd not come across the A2 before and it took me a while to realise what (I think) the difference is from the P2.  Looks like the A2 doesn't have a tail switch while the P2 does, perhaps the A2 doesn't have the focusing lens either?

Anyway reading the LED Lenser site it sounds like the 'A' series is pretty new to the market so they might not be quite so easy to get hold of yet.  Either that or Lenser need to update their site. ;)

Let me "show off" the newest cheapo I got from China today :D

It's a USB flashlight, i.e. can be charged through the PC or... a TV (haven't tried that yet, I've just received it).

My first impression was that the thing was larger than seen in the pictures on eBay. It looked the diametre of an AAA battery, but it's much wider. You'll see it in comparison to an Olight i3.

It was a nice surprise to figure it had whole two modes - ... normal (25 lumens) and strobe/sos/whatever. When you turn it to the right it turns on normally, you twist left, it turns off, you twist left again and it goes into the strobe mode.

It's difficult to operate it with one hand for some reason...

It's supposed to charge for 10 minutes and then give you 2.5 hours of 25-lumen light. Unfortunately it doesn't have any attachment options.... but hey, it cost about only $2.4, lol.

Okay, it does charge from the TV :D And the LED shines in red while charging and after about 10 minutes, it turns green to show the battery's charged (as advertised).

The Maglite Solitaire sells for about $9, but has an output of 2 lumens.  They make an LED version, but I haven't seen it yet.  My favorite is the INOVA Microlight which sells for less than $10. It has a nice bright white light and 3 modes. Clips to your jacket or purse.

Is the pocket clip removable?
Removable is good, and reversible is better. That way, you can clip it to the visor of a baseball cap to use it as a head-light.

I bought a couple of these...   http://www.ebay.com/itm/140907295132  on the recommendation of one of my shooting mates.

Wasn't expecting much for $5.29  but WOW  Think I will buy 5 more.
UNSMURFINGBELIEVABLE light from a single AA and I haven't even tried one with a 14500 cell yet!!

I've got a dozen other flashlights but these outperform just about all of them.

and a BIG plus in my book... SINGLE MODE  YAY!!

I have a black version with 3 modes. i gotta agree, these cheap flashlights are incredible for 5 bucks.

i recently bought a defiant AA cree from homedepot for 8 bucks that seems pretty impressive. it's a little brighter (58 lumens on the box) but the casing is cheap plastic thatll probably crack after a few drops. also worth mentioning, its as bright as my Fenix e11. for 8 bucks... id still probably rather pick up one of those cheap 5 dollar flashlights instead.

Back during Christmas, I gave my excellent little Preon 1 away to my father-in-law, who takes an evening walk every night. He was using one of those crappy plastic flashlights that eat C cells and give off very little light.

So, after giving him my light, I was without anything other than my little 6lm keychain fauxton.

Thanks to this thread, I just bought a cheap LED light from dx.com for like $3.50. We'll see how it works.

i have one of these and two more on the way. i was edcing this for a month or so before i decided to upgrade to an e11. but for the price, its excellent to keep a couple around the house.

if youre not into doing business over seas, then you can check out the defiant tactical flash light that home depot sells.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Defiant-Compact-Tactical-Flashlight-809-2741-D/203138569#.UVHushzql0w

its about 8 bucks, single AA battery, about 50lm+, pocket clip, light. the only downside i see is that the casing is plastic. its just as bright, if not brighter than the one in the quote. i bought it for my brother, he loves it.
