Well, I'm lovin' it. Put a lanyard on, the attachment for one is in exactly the right place  :tu: Oiled it .. and cut myself on the serrated part of the blade  This tool is the polar opposite of my Swisstool and that's what makes it so good  :)

Glad you like it! One thing have notice, when it gets wet, greasy or oily, did does not seems to be so slippery or hard to hold on too like the Vic Multis. And the sogs are pretty shiny. Not bad mouthing Vic multis, they are well made, bad ass F&F, but slippery.

I put a bit of grip tape on my stainless Powerlock, same as what I do to my metal handled Kershaw Leeks.  Makes life much easier in slippery conditions.  :tu:

Great idea, I like it. I seem to have got into SOG multis when most folks, with a few exceptions, have got out of them. The SOG forum is pretty quiet these days  :(

Just picked one up at my local tacticool shop down the road!  :tu:

This is the third time I have owned one of these, but the tools on this are a little different from the one I got at Lowes Hardware a while back. So is the sheath, now that I think of it.

I got this because I think it is old new stock. This is  the only one I have owned that actually had "SOG USA" on the tool. I think the current ones are made in China and have a cover over the gears. It is also the only Powerlock I have seen with a plain non-serrated blade, no hook cutter, and no useless piece for attaching a bit holder. I was never happy with the other ones where I paid good money for the tool, but the bit adapter was not included. I have several cheapies at home that came with the adapter, plus many bits, so I do not think it is an expensive option!

I'm in - a big thanks to Chris (Magic Bus) for the deal.

My first SOG and I love it - quality and finish is superb, not Swisstool like but nicely industrial and I love the mix of tools on this EOD version.  Chris's example has perfect tools but just a bit of wear to the finish as I like it - character and no fears of scratching it more.  The sheath is a beaut' too - smells more of leather than my Dad's old jag when I was a kid.  Very impressed.

Max.

Good so far except for the silly No.1 Phillips - too small for most household stuff for which I use a No.2 99% of the time...   ::)

I have my SOG Powerlock BO EOD for a couple of months now and I can't say I like it.
The geared pliers are nice but using anything else is inferior to the Victorinox and Leatherman options. First, everything is on the inside. Then, you have to open the comfort grips. Then, the tools come out 2-3 at a time because of friction. Much worse than the all outside accessible individual springed Swisstool and Spirit and even the Charge's and Surge's outside OHO blades and inside easily accessed tools. Then, most tools are short for such a large multitool and the nail nicks reduce working surface on the file (which lacks a metal saw) and make the rest look and feel less robust. There's no imagination and character regarding the tools, they seem copied from Victorinox and even the V-cut is no much better than the one on the Charge (which is S30V and can be sharpened). The saw and blade look on the inside and the handle comes in the way. The blade is short, thin, narrow, combo edge and chisel ground.
Also the tool can't align for better reach as the others do, without the pliers getting in the way. It is big and the gears protrude. Finally I prefer SS finish.
The simple locks work quite nicely, the tool feels strong and I like to play with opening and closing it but that's that. I won't carry it instead of a Vic or LM,  no way. I'm not saying it's bad, it has potential if they work on the tools, but it ain't for me.

Here is my accumulation, the one on the far right has been beat on for at least 12 years now, but really doesn't show it.

Years ago I bought a Leatherman and fouled the cutters in less than 3 hours, took them back and beat on a Gerber for a bit longer, but they kept loosening up on me.  I got the Powerlock on the right and never looked back.

The 2 Black Oxide have just "SOG" on the head, and the others have "SOG USA".  As far as I can tell, I believe they are all USA made, with the current user and Black Oxides being EOD's and the other two just regulars.  The one Black Oxide has newer wings on it, as it had been winged when I got it.   ::)

I posted this over in the deals and auctions section. Anyone looking to add to their Powerlock collection, Amazon has 15% off select SOGs and SOG has a $5 rebate. So, for instance, a new B61N-CP would be $43.45 after rebate. Now's the time to recruit some new Powerlock owners!  :D
