Mauser info
« on: July 22, 2012, 02:16:21 AM »
A few years ago I picked up a mint Mauser from felinevet and its been sat in my collection unused, then recently I got the chance to buy a BNIB Mauser so I bought it thinking I could use the mint one and keep the BNIB in my collection ;)

I've only just noticed the BNIB one has the small file/match striker plate on the saw while the mint one I bought a few years ago doesn't

Can any one give me any info on this as I've looked online and all the Mauser's I've seen don't have the file/match striker on the saw.

Thanks

Does the knife with the small file/match striker plate have a Large Clip Point Blade?

The blade with the writing on it.

Yes it does, its exactly the same as the one you linked to except it has the small file/match striker...its packaged in a Mauser box with the little booklet also.

Interesting!  Does the knife have the saw guard as well?  Might have been some repair of later revision, but I don't think we've seen the Mauser with the file/match-strike area on the blade before.  In any case it would not be anywhere near as common as the regular saw version.

Maybe one of the serious 108mm collectors will chime in.
