Use SOG/Paladin multitool file as a screwdriver?
« on: July 30, 2012, 02:43:55 AM »
Paladin refers to the file as a combination file / #6 slotted screwdriver.

Anyone brave enough to try using the file tip as a screwdriver?  If this "new" style file is as brittle as some of my other files, I think it might break easily when used as a screwdriver.

So, I tried tightening the screws that hold my vice on my workbench and although the whole thing flexed (a lot). It got the job done so I would say yes.

Thanks for the info, guys.   The file looks to flat and wimpy to be used as a screwdriver if much torque is required.  Thought it was odd that Paladin cited the file's screwdriver "feature" while the SOG web site made no mention of the file being used in this way.

I know the file on the Leatherman Crunch doubles as the large flathead, although it is a bit shorter than the SOG one
