Yeah, the idea was mine, everything else was Steve's. :)

Sorry for the pic about how I carry it, but that was all I could do.

Anyways, pictures:

Nice to see its being used hard. How's the pocket clip holding up?
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

This is a model that needs to become a standard Victorinox product.

Brilliant concept and excellent execution.  :salute:

The pocket clip on this model is screwed to the outer liner. It has spacers under it to it from collapsing. I wasn't to keen with just attaching it to the scale for fear of it popping off. No problem now as it won't come off ;)

Ya the +B one is held on only by the scale.  Steve's method is much better.

It wasn't an easy task at all. Lots of measuring, cutting, grinding, and fitting. In the end the result was worth it.

Am I right in thinking that without the saw this would be about the same thickness as the OHT?

Man, pliers, knife, opener layer, inline Philipps, corkscrew… that would be a great loadout.

the pliers layer is a thick one, it would still be a little wider then a OHT

All black soldier with pliers and inline phillips, with corkscrew.

Get yourself a patent and talk to Victorinox :sak:

Kinda necroing I think, but I'll post an update because this week came the first sharpening for the blade. I had hoped that I don't have to sharpen it yet, but I had to, so bye cerakote. :(

Anyways, the SAK is as good as it was the first day I got it, clip holds A+, I only have to tighten the torx screws every 2-3 months. Steve, I can't stop loving your work. :)

Cerakote has all my respect, since I tought it wouldn't hold up this well. (Don't forget, this is my EDC knife :D )

I have no proven technique for it, so I just use the Vic little sharpy.

It's not the best option, I know

I would recommend a Spyderco triangle sharpmaker. You don't need to buy the hole set, a replacement stick "medium" is way enough.

Edit:
On the road it's allways a good idea to have a felco 902 with you. It has a round edge on the side, which can be abused for serrations. However, it may need a little mod, to get a smaller radius. (For the main blade I don't like serrations, but that's just my gusto)

Could you measure the width of the knive for us curious minds? I try to mod something similiar in the distant future.

And for sharpening: I have the Victorinox Pocket sharpener, the pen-like one with V-sharpener and blue ceramic rod. It fit's the serrations really well but might be a little to coarse for your liking.

Sorry for the laaaaaaaaate reply. 22 mm in width, without the clip. With the clip, its 30.

@Steve: It's still going stong, and it's still my daily driver! :) The cap opener started to wobble a bit, but thats kinda my fault, used it as a prying tool.

:twak: you should know better. If you need it tightened up just remove the scales and tap that pin lightly untold it's tight again :).
