Wanna see Benner's SAK??
on: March 06, 2008, 05:35:13 PM
I thought you did!!!!    :D

Here's a nice little around town SAK Ben designed.

Kind of a compact with a file and custom awl.   Nice full sized gents knife!

Very nice selection of tools there Ben. If I were to pick the same amount of tools they would probably be the same as whats on that one.

You've just got to put up with Ben's incessant ''is it ready yet?'' every couple of minutes :D

Does look like a damn fine user though :)

Isn't it gorgeous!   Can't wait till it gets here.  :)  Bill managed to get exactly what I asked for.  He even custom made the awl from another tool as the Vic awl would not fit properly with the tools that I asked for.

Thanks again Bill for doing it for me. It is great to have an example of your work on the way.

How about "The Benner".

As in "I've been EDCing a Tinker, but found the Benner to be a lot more useful."

Good job on that fine screwdriver/awl mod Bill!

Nice one Benner!  I like the tool selection.

Shall we just call it a "Golfer" Bill?  :D

Yeah, for those of you who don't understand that one....

Victorinox has had so many different models named "Golfer", that it seems that if they couldn't come up with a creative name, "Golfer" is what they tagged it.  So, if you say you own a Golfer, the inevitable question to follow is "which one"?

If SOSAKers find a model they can't name, we make the joke and say that it's probably a Golfer, because the chances that is really is named that are highest.

Here's a Golfer for you.  This one is just like a Compact, but is an 84mm model.  This type is the "usual suspect" when talking about the Golfer, but it is a rarer one because it has the long nail file on the backspring.

With the phillips screwdriver and metal file, maybe we should name it the "Technogolfer"?

I'm not typically a fan of the backspring phillps, but this model really looks very useful.

Guess what arrived today!  :D

It is awesome Bill, thanks.  :)  That awl is really impressive, it looks even better than a standard SAK awl.

For those of you who haven't had one of Bill's mods, I can honestly say this SAK is very impressive.  The snap and opening of each of the blades/tools is just as good as a regular Vic SAK.  I am more than happy with it.  :)

Pics, as always, will be following shortly.  :salute:

That's a beauty!

The worst part about seeing the mods other folks get Scibeer to make them, is that I want one just like them!

From now on, Bill's going to have to make two of each- one the for the person who wants it, and one for me! :D

that is sooooo sweet!

no hole in the awl? I was wondering if Mister Scribeer has done holes in them
and how difficult is it in their hardened tools?
