I pretty much need everything except knife and sleeping bag. The bag I bought in Colorado and used on many a hunting trip so I know it's up to the task. I'm trying to decide on a tent or try a hammock. I've been reading http://www.hammockforums.net and other sites to get the low-down...... may wind up rolling my own. I'm getting next month's Backpacker ragazine with their annual gear picks. Can't wait for the warm weather to get here.

I'll repost what I entered in the SYKC's forums:

"Well folks, it's almost two weeks since the sale of the DMDC. I haven't heard hide nor hair from anyone representing SYKC since that day. I've sent two emails, roughly 5 days apart and still no response. I needed a knife for an outing which was to commence the end of next week. I figured the DMDC would fit the bill and would be here by then but I'm feeling that won't happen. If a company is going to move, put up a notification on the homepage or order page(s) of such. This would ensure the customer (A) knows the company is moving, and (B) that there could be a delay in receiving the products ordered. This is my first dealings with SYKC. I've heard good reviews of their knives and customer service. So far, folks, I'm not impressed. I have received zero customer service so far."

I'm expecting numerous "Hey, they're moving. Give them a break." responses being it is SYKC's own forums.   ::)  Gee, am I asking for a left nut here?  >:(

I'd call it pretty poor service if a company has taken your money, but not replied to emails or sent out the goods!

I did read that there bro. Let me tell you from personal first time experience there, it can be real hard!
I waited 4 months for my first blade from them, with several emails saying; "soon they'll be available"

to placing an order, getting charged, waiting 2 weeks, and then being told their was a glitch in the system and they have no
knives now, here's a refund! >:(

I feel for you bro, honest. but after you get that first one, you'll understand. I would say their customer service shines, after
you get your first! like if you have problems or learn how the system works.

I'm not saying that's best way their is but them being so popular, and the move, it bees that way...

I don't think I've ever gotten confirmation of my order, or shipping notices, and I've ordered from them about 10 times
the way you know is when everyone starts posting they've received their knife.

Believe me brother, I'm an understanding guy and try to treat people the way I'd like to be treated. If I knew about the move before ordering and that it _could_ take a good couple of weeks to get the knife I would not have ordered. In fact, if I don't hear anything by Monday I'll be starting a dispute with Paypal. They knew they'd be offering these knives up in a big sale that would generate many orders. I think it was bad timing on their part because of the move.

I really understand your frustration bro. I was as shocked as anybody when they announced their move.
they have been in business for alittle over a year now and I think they are learning many things. I think your post
there was warranted and understandable. I wouldn't be surprised if people started getting their blades next week...

I don't know if that was posted to calm the natives or not but based upon all the high praise heaped on the Busse family I've decided to just chill and see what happens. It also appears my trip will not happen afterall because my buddy has work changes. He has a well-known recording studio and they have a big band coming in to start their next album that he'll be working on. I could go myself but where I planned on going I'd rather have a companion along for safety, and maybe sanity, reasons.  :)
