Colourful Opinels + Plastic handles , They can do it !!

I recently got some Opinel paring knives & they came in some rather fetching colourful plastic handles 






Nice detail & the handles have coped well with being put through the dishwasher  , the blades not so well(blades get a bit rusty).

How good would these handles look on Opinel's folding knife range  . Maybe with a little less glossy finish & a grippy texture

The Opie was the one I've been looking at. I'm working on the wife for her kitchen knife collection and may get her going with one of these

I have long wished for Opinel to go to an injection molded plastic handle. It would go so far to make the Opy  a true all weather outdoorsmans knife. As much as I like Oinel, I don't carry them when dealing with water, like canoe camping, hiking in winter wet snow or rainy days.

I think Opinel should do like the Svord peasant knife- have a choice of wood or plastic handles and see which ones sell best.

We use them in the kitchen ( for a year now) and tehy hold up fin although they go in teh dishwasher. They can be had in natural wood handled, too but my girl would not disusss her decision. ;-)
