File on the Compact's hook took care of a rough nail. Man it's a slow SAK day today...

I used the Philips head screwdriver on my ST today at work as well as the small blade to open a package and later, after a hard day - the caplifter opened a bottle of great local beverage :D   :drink:

I'm really not a collector. I have/use what I like and what helps me out with my activities.

Ha, ha - We all say that here - at least initially - and many continue to deny it!!

Cleaned vacuum cleaner and parts with help of Explorer. Nice tool to carry, like the phillips driver, fits for very tiny screws.

Used the re-profiled Evo 18 nail file tip to transfer batteries from Photon II Pro to an older Photon light because I no longer trusted the latching action of the II Pro. The older model is momentary operation with the option of operating the latching tab.

The nail file did it all, removed the tiny Phillips, removed the II Pro battery flap, prised out the batteries and separated the split ring.

As an aside anybody know if the II Pro can be made momentary?

Opened cartons of passata, tins of red kidney beans, trays of minced beef and diced beef, and a bag of potatoes, all with the resident kitchen SAK - non locking Victorinox Skipper. Trimmed fingernails with Vic Manager too

Took a day hike with the wife and my Farmer today.  Carved up a hand drill set using the saw, blade, and awl.  The wood was not seasoned properly, or was the wrong type and polished instead of building dust, but was fun to try.  With some more time I think I could have found some better/different wood and got it going.

The awl on the Farmer never ceases to amaze me.  It bores through wood very quickly and very neatly.  Its also sharp enough to scrape and cut out a v notch in the fire board.  Its nothing new, I am just always impressed by it.

Only problem today was after a while of cutting some hardwood my hand started hurting pretty badly.  Main reason I am considering picking up a Trekker, thinking the grip may be more comfortable for extended use.

Used the blade on my Compact to cut some solid copper wire, with the help of my boot.

Today I used my OC red Pioneer to cut up a 14 man liferaft.  I tell ya, the floor in those things is a little easier to get through then I would have thought!!  Once you got a little nick in it, it would open up quick, and with little pressure.  The sides that inflate were pretty damn tough though.

I did get two knives from it too.   :tu:  The were attached to the raft, and are used to cut the mooring lines if needed.  They are kind of crude looking, but they do cut line pretty easily.

+1  that looks good! I'll take that with a glass of chocolate milk! I've had to use my SAK a couple times, sometimes my wife and I can't decide what we want so we get both and split our meals so we get a little of each, and sometimes these places don't have knives nor cut everything in half, another reason to be prepared! Putting together a toddler car. Instructions said an electronic drill was needed, among other things. Managed to put it together using the blade, reamer and screwdrivers from the Trekker...

Covered most of this in a different thread, but wanted to share it here as well.  I went to a wedding last weekend, and my Climber got a workout.  Main blade was used to cut zip ties and ribbons, scissors to trim strings, awl to disengage zip ties, toothpick to make sure I had no food in my teeth for the pictures, and perhaps most importantly, the corkscrew and mini-screwdriver were used to untangle the bride's necklace before the ceremony.

Kinda of a boring day today when is comes to sak use but I did use my Manager to open up a package that had a crank emergency radio in it.  We decided to pick one up cause my wife seen somewhere that the Farmer's almanac is predicting a ton of snow/bad winter this year which could mean power outages for extended times but I wouldnt bet on it as others think it might be a warmer than normal winter so who's right, only time will tell.  :D

My brother's wedding was today.  For carry while wearing a suit I went with just my Minichamp, and boy did it get a workout.  FIrst the scissors cut a small plactic cable holding a pair of socks together.  Then after we'd taken pictures of the wedding party my other brother went to put a pack of cigarettes in his in his jacket pocket, and realized that the tailor hadn't opened the pockets on his new suit.  The pen blade and scissors took care of that very well.  After the actual ceremony was finished, we in the bridal party were waiting outside the venue for a couple of minutes before coming back in to introductions.  Someone went inside and grabbed several beers, Stellas.  Who was the only one who had a bottle opener.  The recovering alcoholic, of course.   The combo tool works pretty well actually.  It also opened a Coke in a glass bottle for me.  :)  I realized I hadn't signed my card-pen took care of that quickly.  And when my cousin broke a nail, who came to the rescue with a file?  :D  I'm loving this little knife.  It's amazing just how much you can actually accomplish with a 58mm.  Call me a new fan of the size.  :tu:
