Different Plier Head for Original Wave?
on: December 02, 2012, 05:05:25 PM
Does anyone know if any other plier heads can be swapped into an original wave?  Thanks!

Too narrow I think.

Baja820 I think you are right.  Maybe some from the fuse or blast will work.

The point is I got a little over zealous with a hammer trying to tighten up the plier pivot and, well....  HULK SMASH!!!

Actually, they still work but they are pitifully beat up and will fail eventually.  The newer ovalized head of the cheaper blast or fuse might fit right in.  Or I'll just pony up the money for a nice original wave on eBay.  Seems a shame not to try to save the one I wrecked though.

Just send it in to leatherman they will fix/replace it under warranty. I took an original super tool in with literally every tool on the thing completely snapped off they didn't even flinch just tossed in a bin and handed me a new one.

I sent one in I had given to me where they broke the frame itself where both handles touched opened and closed. I still rehung a door with them, lol, but it took me , 2 or 3 years to get up the nerve to send em in, and get em replaced. They upgraded to the newer model, but it has grown on me even if the handles are too wide, plus I don't plan on going back from locking tools.  Leatherman has the best warranty ever.
