It's official- Raker Ring Tool from CRKT!

I just had a look at the CRKT site to see if they had the Raker Ring Tool listed, and indeed they do:

they call it the KERT (Key Ring Emergency Tool, which you think would be the KRET  :think:) but the important part is, our good buddy Ray done hit the bigtime!

Even better, as I understand it, he's got a few in his hands, and Travis, Ray and I are putting together a chance for folks here to get their greedy little paws on one!  :D

Further down the page they call it " K.E.R.T.™ (Keyring Emergency Rescue Tool). "  so I guess they are a little confused themselves.

For those that don't know Ray, he's been a member and supporter of this site and EDCSource for some time now, and he did a series of MTO edition Ring Tools.



He's also offered a number of knives and tools over the past few years for giveaways and other events.  He truly is an MTO member even if he doesn't have a huge post count!

It's extremely great to see one of us make it to the next level!

I just finished up a web page for the K.E.R.T.  It is at http://www.rakerknives.com/CRKT-KERT.htm, I do think that Grant and Travis are working on a group buy and  may be able to offer them to you in the store.
 For those members that want to suport the store here, they should be available in a week or so. So have patience.  I will have to ship them to Travis and he will need to get it listed there.
I  don't post much, as a matter of fact, the last 3 years I haven't been on hardly any web sites except Facebook.  That is mostly to keep up with the kids and a few close friends and knife makers. :)
I do want all to know that Grant is the one that got me an appointment with Mr. Flagg of CRKT.  He also had faith in the Ring Tool and hopefully, with the exposure of the KERT through CRKT, the world will know how the simple tool on a key ring can be used every day and could possibly help cut you out of a wreck. 
I have had only one person tell me that he used the tool to help save his friends life when he had to cut his seat belt to get him out of a truck that rolled over.  Made my day.

Thanks, Scrappy.  And a Big Thanks to the many customers and friends I have accumulated on here.  I think the store will probably have them for sale by this week end.  You will be the first customers for it.  Makes me feel good to know that this web site has first dibs on purchasing a new product on the market.  You all deserve it.

It really is a great tool to have easily accessible at work. A lot of crates at work have flat head fasteners, and pallets will come in with nylon strapping so the ring tool works great for those tasks!

Also, if I ever happen to roll the forklift and can't get the buckle undone, it's nice to know this is around my neck! I've had close calls before with some of the massive crates we have, and the almost constant high winds at the airport.

That is too funny because I almost lost my job once for not wearing my seatbelt on a fork lift. The rule was, if it had a belt we wore it. But several of the fork lifts didn't have seat belts. I got busted on one that had it, but I wasn't wearing it.

If someone really wants to quote safety then you should point out that if you need to wear seatbelts in a forklift then you should also be required to wear a full helmet and not just a hard hat.  After all, if it falls over sideways then your arse is firmly planted in the seat meaning your unprotected head is going right into the ground.  At least if you aren't belted in you have a decent enough chance of absorbing some of the impact with your shoulder hip and side when it falls.

Don't ask how I know these things...
